• Straightforward results interpretation: inner layer on the plate base is sub-divided into grids to allow easy calculation of colony forming units (CFU) from surface tests, enabling labs to report whether contaminant levels fall within pre-defined acceptable limits.

Surface sampling is achieved by gently rolling the domed surface of the agar onto the area to be tested. If any microorganisms that can cause disease or infection are present, they will grow to form easily visible colonies on the surface of the agar. This offers a reliable and effective way of determining the microbial cleanliness of surface areas and help control invisible dangers associated with microbial contamination. Clearly visible growth is available within three days for bacteria and within five days for fungi.
