Microvascular Growth Supplement (MVGS)

A sterile, concentrated (20X) solution intended for use with Medium 131 to culture human microvascular endothelial cells. Each 25 ml bottle of MVGS contains all of the growth factors, hormones, and tissue extracts necessary for the culture of human microvascular endothelial cells, and is the correct amount of supplement for a 500 ml bottle of Medium 131. When a 500 ml bottle of medium is supplemented with MVGS, the final concentrations of the components in the supplemented medium are:
• fetal bovine serum (4.9% v/v final concentration)
• hydrocortisone (1 μg/ml)
• human fibroblast growth factor (3 ng/ml)
• heparin (10 μg/ml)
• human epidermal growth factor (1 ng/ml)
• dibutyryl cyclic AMP (0.08 mM)
