The PrioCHECK™ CSFV Antibody 2.0 ELISA is a blocking ELISA that specifically detects antibodies against the A domain of the E2 protein of CSFV. This domain is more specific for CSFV than the B, C, and D domain of the E2 protein. An important advantage of the test is that it does not cross-react with related viruses such as Bovine Viral Diarrhoea virus (BVDV) and Border Disease virus (BDV). The test detects antibodies against high-, moderate-, and low-virulent CSFV strains early after infection. Detection of antibodies elicited by low-virulent CSFV strains is of paramount importance to trace sub clinical CSFV infections.

Test procedure
The PrioCHECK™ CSFV Antibody 2.0 ELISA is a blocking ELISA. In this test, the plates are coated with the E2 CSFV envelope protein. The key reagent is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) directed against an epitope located on the A domain of the envelope protein E2 of CSFV, making the test more specific for CSFV. The mAb is labeled with an enzyme that generates a color signal. The signal is measured and when no color is formed, the sample containing anti-CSFV antibodies that competed for the A domain of the E2 protein is positive for CSFV.
