El reactivo FreeStyle™ MAX es una formulación exclusiva libre de componentes de origen animal para transfectar el ADN plasmídico en células eucariotas que pueden ampliarse fácilmente para producir grandes cantidades de proteínas recombinantes. El reactivo FreeStyle™ MAX permite los máximos niveles de expresión y unas tasas de transfección con la menor citotoxicidad en aplicaciones de bioproducción, y está específicamente formulado para su uso con:

• Células FreeStyle™ 293-F (células renales embrionarias humanas en suspensión, n.° de cat. R790-07) en el medio de expresión y sin suero FreeStyle™ 293 (n.° de cat. 12338-018)
• Células FreeStyle™ CHO-S (células de ovario de hámster chino en suspensión, n.° de cat. R800-07) en el medio de expresión y sin suero FreeStyle™ CHO (n.° de cat. 12651-014)
• Células DG44 (células CHO en suspensión DHFR–) en medio CD DG44 con 8 mM de L-glutamina y 18 ml/l de Pluronic™ F-68 al 10 % (n.° de cat. A11000-01)

Uso del producto
El reactivo FreeStyle™ MAX está pensado para usarse con el sistema de expresión FreeStyle™ MAX 293 (n.° de cat. K9000-10) y el sistema de expresión FreeStyle™ MAX CHO (n.º K9000-20).

What is the advantage of FreeStyle Max Reagent over 293fectin Transfection Reagent?

Both FreeStyle Max Reagent and 293fectin Transfection Reagent provide similar levels of high transfection efficiency; however, FreeStyle Max Reagent has lower cytotoxicity and hence results in higher protein yields. Additionally, FreeStyle Max Reagent is animal-origin free.

Can FreeStyle 293-F cells grown in FreeStyle 293 expression medium be transfected with ExpiFectamine293 Reagent along with enhancers? Is so, will the transfection efficiency be higher than that with FreeStyle Max Reagent?

You should be able to use the ExpiFectamine293 Reagent for transfection of Freestyle 293-F cells grown in FreeStyle 293 Expression Medium; however, the enhancers will provide only a little boost in expression as they are designed to work with higher density cultures that FreeStyle 293 Expression Medium cannot support.

Can FreeStyle MAX reagent be used for transfecting adherent cells?

Yes, the reagent can be used for adherent cells, however the protocol supplied with the reagent has been optimized for CHO and 293 cells in suspension culture. If you want to transfect adherent cells, please use Lipofectamine 2000 transfection reagent.
