With this kit, hexokinase (HK) catalyzes the generation of glucose and ATP into glucose-6-phosphate. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) further catalyzes the dehydrogenation of glucose-6-phosphate into NADPH. NADPH then reacts with a color developer, and the product has a characteristic absorption peak at 460 nm that is used to determine the ATP content. This kit is useful for researchers studying cellular energy metabolism and bioenergetics.
