Hexaamminecobalt(III) chloride is used in X-ray crystallography and NMR. It is useful in DNA condensation studies. It is suitable for induction of transitions of DNA from B to A or Z forms, induction of nucleic acid crystal growth, stabilization of tertiary tRNA interactions, preparation of ligation buffer.
