General Description
• Prednisolone is a derivative of prednisone with an oxo to beta-hydroxy reduction at position 11
• Prednisolone binds cell surface receptors and is transported to the nucleus, where it binds certain nuclear receptors responsible for transcription of proinflammatory cytokines
Applications
• Prednisolone can be used for laboratory research on tumor growth and prevention
• Prednisolone may also be used for developmental and endocrine research, in vivo or in vitro
