Magnesium sulfate, produced by appropriate processes, finds use in several pharmaceutical preparations of magnesium usually known as epsom salt. It is used as a micronutrient in agriculture, for brewing salt in the production of certain alcoholic products, as an electrolyte to prepare metal salts, as a coagulant and as an ingredient in bath salts for use in floatation therapy.
