WL Nutrient Broth (Dehydrated)

Determine the flora in brewing and fermentation processes with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ WL Nutrient Broth (Dehydrated). The broth is based on the formulation of Green and Gray¹ and is used where there are advantages for broth media e.g. using larger samples of liquid products or for enrichment cultures with cycloheximide.

Use WL Nutrient Broth for determination of the flora in brewing and fermentation processes.

• Selective: the presence of cycloheximide in the medium suppresses the yeast growth and renders the medium selective for bacterial contaminants
• Baker’s yeast counts can be carried out in this medium at a pH 5.5, while at pH 6.5, the medium can be used for obtaining counts of Baker’s and distiller’s yeast.
