1-Eicosanol has been used in gradient HPLC-charged aerosol detection method for the detection of different lipids, as internal standard during determination of policosanol?s high molecular weight alcohols (policosanol?s fatty alcohols) in fish oil by GC. Also used as a non-ionic surfactant in cosmetics, used in lubricants, rubber, plastics, textiles and as an emulsion stabilizer and viscosity increasing agent.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
