Panel Description

The panel of assays in the TaqMan® Array 96-well Human Osteogenesis Plate targets genes associated with osteoblast determination and differentiation, including the RUNX2 transcription factor and growth factors with induce osteoprogenetor to differentiation and which guide osteoblast function (bone morphogenetic proteins, etc). The panel also includes genes involved in the physiological processes of bone and tooth formation, mineralization and maintenance, including collagens, enamelin and matrix metalloproteinases.

Pathway Information

Osteogenesis is the formation of bone. There are two osteogenesis processes, intramembranous osteogenesis, in which osteoblasts form bone directly in the mesenchyme, and endochondral osteogenesis, in which osteroblasts form bone in a cartilage precursor. ...
