This case study demonstrates how the PreClara Ratio helped improve clinical decision making in this patient with non-specific lab findings that otherwise might have been assigned as preeclampsia with severe features leading to delivery.
Patient profile: A 36-year-old G3P0 with CHTN and severe obesity presents at 31+4 weeks gestation with elevated blood pressures and transaminitis, raising clinical suspicion for preeclampsia.
PreClara Ratio result: 2 (low-risk result)
Disposition: The patient was expectantly managed and discharged home with a weekly MFM follow up based on comprehensive clinical picture.
Outcome: The patient delivered at 38+2 via C-section for CHTN and transaminitis (7-week latency).

*Case study results were provided by Dr. Sarosh Rana, University of Chicago Medicine, with patient permission. Management strategy guided admission, delivery, and discharge decisions based on overall clinical status, not on the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio.
