XCell SureLock™ Mini-Cell (Invitrogen™)

The XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell allows you to run Novex® mini-gels quickly, easily, and leak-free without any clamps or grease. The XCell line of mini-cells has always distinguished itself by being simple, sturdy, and convenient. The tradition continues with the patented XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell. The incorporation of a gel tension wedge, in place of the rear wedge used on earlier models, makes the XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell the easiest-to-use mini-cell on the market.

How the system works

The XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell holds gels firmly with a simple gel tension wedge. When the lever on the gel tension wedge is pushed forward into the locked position, an even, horizontal force is generated. This seals the gel/buffer core assembly firmly into position in the lower buffer chamber (see figure). The positive locking action of the gel tension wedge ensures a trouble-free, leak-free gel run every time.

Easy set-up procedure

The XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell can be easily set up in just three simple steps (see figure). The XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell is available separately or as a part of a complete package to fit your electrophoresis needs (see table).

Upgrade your XCell II™ to an XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell

Conversion of an XCell II™ into an XCell SureLock® is easy with the SureLock® Retrofit Kit (available separately). The kit consists of a SureLock® mini-cell lid, gel tension wedge, and molded mini-gel buffer dam.

XCell SureLock™ Mini-Cell and XCell II™ Blot Module (Invitrogen™)

The XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell and XCell II™ Blot Module includes the XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell for running Novex® mini-gels and the XCell II™ Blot Module for blotting Novex® mini-gels.

The XCell II™ Blot Module
The XCell II™ Blot Module allows you to easily transfer proteins or nucleic acids from mini-gels to membranes. It fits neatly into the XCell SureLock® and XCell II™ Mini-Cells in place of the gel/buffer core assembly. It requires less than 200 mL of transfer buffer for Western, Southern, and northern transfers. Tough platinized titanium and stainless steel electrodes create a uniform electrical field without clamps or hinged gel holders. Maximum blot size is 9 cm x 9 cm.

E-Gel™ Imager UV Light Base

The E-Gel® Imager system is your personal imaging system for documenting and analyzing agarose gels and E-Gel® cassettes. The E-Gel® Imager UV Light Base is one of three interchangeable bases that work with the E-Gel® Imager Camera Hood to comprise the E-Gel® Imager system. The E-Gel® Imager UV Light base is a compact UV light transilluminator for self poured gels as well as E-Gel® agarose gel cassettes stained with ethidium bromide. E-Gel® Imager UV Light Base has a built in safety mechanism that requires the E-Gel® Imager Camera Hood to be affixed over the top in order to be operational. Alternatively the E-Gel® Imager Gel Excision Kit will allow the base to transilluminate without the Camera Hood attached. E-Gel® Imager UV Light Base has an internal power supply port to allow operation of the E-Gel® iBase™ power system inside the system without running cables or wires under the hood or through a door.

The E-Gel® Imager UV Light Base is an excellent transilluminator specially designed to work as part of the E-Gel® Imager system. The UV Light Base provides intense uniform illumination across the entirety of the glass surface of the table. The internal light sources have been positioned to minimize hot and cold spots as well as edge effects and to minimize shadowing. The E-Gel® Imager UV Light Base produces very bright and intense UV light. Proper personal protective equipment should always be used when working with UV light.

Small Footprint Fits Most Benchtop
The E-gel® Imager UV Light Base has been designed as a part of the compact E-Gel® Imager system. The contoured design is sleek and modern, to standout on any bench without overwhelming even a modest amount of space. E-Gel® Imager is a departure from the heavy, cumbersome imaging systems of years past. As part of the E-Gel® Imager system the UV Light Base is small and light enough to move around the lab as needed, but attractive enough to want to store in plain sight.

Multiple Bases for Multiple Applications
Three interchangeable bases provide excellent flexibility to use multiple gel stains. The UV Light Base is best for ethidium bromide and the Blue Light Base can be used for many SYBR® dyes like SYBR® Safe DNA gel stain. The E-Gel® Adaptor Base has been designed to provide power to either the E-Gel® iBase™ power system coupled to the E-Gel® Safe Imager™, or the E-Gel® Go! About the Mini Gel Tank
The Mini Gel Tank is compatible with a variety of Novex® gels, NuPAGE® gels, and Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels. Each Mini Gel Tank can accommodate up to two gels per run. The unique tank design enables convenient side-by-side gel loading and enhanced viewing during use. Optimized conditions using constant voltage allow for Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels to be run in approximately 35 minutes. Run times may vary depending on buffer conditions and power supplies being used.
