The Thermo Scientific TopVision Agarose Tablets, low EEO (LE), are a multi-purpose agarose in tablet format delivered in a convenient blister pack. The agarose tablets are made of standard melting point agarose that yields high resolution, sharp DNA bands with high clarity and low background. TopVision Agarose (Thermo Scientific™)

Thermo Scientific TopVision Agarose provides optimal concentration between 0.7 to 2% in all typical buffer systems. It is a highly purified agarose with very low EEO values certified by strict quality control test procedures.

Agarose II (Low Melt)

UltraPure™ Agarose-1000 (Invitrogen™)

UltraPure™ Agarose-1000 is a polysaccharide (see structure) used for size-based separation of nucleic acids in agarose gel electrophoresis. UltraPure™ Agarose 1000 is specifically formulated for the high- resolution separation of small (<1,000 bp) DNA, RNA, and PCR fragments. This standard melting temperature agarose can resolve DNA fragments differing in as little as 10 bp in size. Benefits of using UltraPure™ Agarose 1000:

Agarose II (Low Melt) (Thermo Scientific™)

Thermo Scientific Pierce Agaroses are highly purified and carefully blended formulations of regular- or low-melting agarose that provide uniform lot-to-lot consistency for preparation of electrophoresis gels.

Features:

• A low temperature agarose for special applications requiring a lower melting temperature
• Optimal for "in-gel" restriction digestion/ligation and DNA recovery
• At 1%, forms a very manageable clear gel that provides excellent resolution and melting characteristics
• Melts at approximately 65°C and remains fluid at 37°C for at least 24 hours, providing an excellent matrix for enzymatic manipulation of samples

UltraPure™ Agarose is a polysaccharide used for size-based separation of nucleic acids in agarose gel electrophoresis applications. UltraPure™ Agarose is ideal for resolving DNA and RNA fragments from 100 bp to >30 kb. Features of UltraPure™ Agarose:

Agarose (4%) (Gibco™)

Gibco® 4% Agarose is an autoclaved, high purity, low melting point gel designed for plaque assays and the purification of baculovirus. The 4% Agarose Gel melts at 65 – 70°C and remains fluid at 37°C. When diluted with concentrated insect cell culture medium, Gibco® 4% Agarose produces a gel firm enough to immobilize local infections, yet ductile enough to allow for the efficient removal of plaques for clonal expansion.

UltraPure™ Low Melting Point Agarose (Invitrogen™)

UltraPure™ Low Melting Point Agarose is a polysaccharide used for size-based separation of nucleic acids in agarose gel electrophoresis applications. UltraPure™ Low Melting Point Agarose is ideal for resolving DNA and RNA fragments and for the recovery of nucleic acid fragments after electrophoresis, as it melts at 65.5°C (below the melting point of most nucleic acids). The solution remains fluid at 37°C and will set rapidly at temperatures below 25°C. Benefits of using UltraPure™ Low Melting Point Agarose:

• Ideal for analysis and recovery of DNA and RNA for routine applications
• Strong gel structure allows for better handling and less breakage
• Ideal for a variety of applications such as in-gel manipulation, tissue and cell culture, and viral plaque assays
• Can also be used in protein electrophoresis applications such as Ouchterlony (antigen-antibody interaction assay) and radial immunodiffusion (RID) (antigen quantitation assay)
