StepOne™ Real-Time PCR System Spectral Calibration Kit (48 well) (Applied Biosystems™)

This easy-to-use kit establishes the pure dye spectra and multicomponent values for FAM™/SYBR® Green I, VIC®/JOE™, and ROX™ dyes on the StepOne™ Real-Time PCR System.

Alignflow™ Flow Cytometry Alignment Beads for Blue Lasers, 6.0 µm (Invitrogen™)

Molecular Probes® AlignFlow™ flow cytometry alignment beads are reliable references for aligning, focusing, and calibrating flow cytometers.The 6.0 µm Alignflow™ Flow Cytometry Alignment Beads for Blue Lasers are fluorescent-dye infused microspheres that are excitable at 488 nm with emission in the range of 515–660 nm.

AlignFlow™ beads provide:

The AlignFlow™ beads are highly uniform with respect to size and fluorescence intensity, resulting in low FSC CV and intensity CV. The beads approximate the size, emission wavelength, and intensity of many biological samples and permit the calibration of the flow cytometer’s laser source, optics, and stream flow without wasting valuable and sensitive experimental material.

Bead Labeling
As with all of our flow cytometry standard microspheres, the AlignFlow™ beads are stained internally rather than on the surface. The dyes are therefore insulated from environmental interactions that could cause variable fluorescence output, resulting in excellent signal stability. These fluorescent polystyrene microspheres are supplied as suspensions packaged in dropper vials for convenient dispensation and are available in a choice of three colors (UV, blue, red) and two sizes (2.5 µm, 6.0 µm) to match your laser.

QuantStudio™ 3/5 Spectral Calibration Plate 1 (FAM™, VIC™, ROX™, SYBR™ dyes), 96-well, 0.2 mL (Applied Biosystems™)

This plate establishes the pure dye spectra and multicomponent values for FAM™, VIC™, ROX™, and SYBR™ dyes on Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio™ 3 and 5 96-well 0.2-mL real-time PCR systems. It enables simultaneous multiple dye calibrations in one plate, significantly reducing effort and time required for dye calibration. TetraSpeck™ Microspheres, 0.2 µm, fluorescent blue/green/orange/dark red (Invitrogen™)

The 0.2 µm TetraSpeck™ microspheres are stained throughout with four different fluorescent dyes, yielding beads that each display four well-separated excitation/emission peaks - 360/430 nm (blue), 505/515 nm (green), 560/580 nm (orange) and 660/680 nm (dark red). These microspheres can greatly facilitate the calibration of conventional fluorescence microscopes, confocal laser scanning microscopes, and associated image-processing equipment for both scientific and commercial imaging, especially for multicolor applications.

ABY™ Dye Spectral Calibration Plate, 96-well (Applied Biosystems™)

This plate is used for ABY® spectral calibration of your Applied Biosystems® 7500 or ViiA™ 7 real-time PCR system with a 96-well block. Please see your instrument maintenance guide for full instructions on use. The dye formulations will help improve multiplexing results by more accurately representing fluorescent spectra that are part of your real-time PCR experiments.

AbC™ Anti-Rat/Hamster Bead Kit (Invitrogen™)

The AbC™ Anti-Rat/Hamster Antibody Compensation Bead Kit provides a consistent, accurate, and simple-to-use technique for the setting of flow cytometry compensation when using fluorochrome-conjugated to rat or hamster antibodies with any laser in flow cytometry.

Accurate compensation is crucial for effective multicolor analysis in flow cytometry. Often, however, cellular-based compensation controls are not completely effective, as many antigens are not highly expressed, and dimly stained cells can lead to inaccurate compensation settings. The AbC™ Anti-Rat/Hamster Bead Kit was developed to address this issue.

How it works
Each kit provides polystyrene microspheres that have fluorescent antibody conjugate capture capacity (positive compensation beads) or are inert (negative compensation beads). After mixing with a fluorophore-conjugated rat or hamster antibody, the two components provide a distinct high-signal positive control with an appropriate negative population that can then be used to set compensation properly regardless of the intensity of the cells in the actual experiment.

Species reactivity
The AbC™ Anti-Rat/Hamster Bead Kit is ideal for compensation with all isotypes of rat (IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG2c, IgM) and hamster (Armenian IgG and Syrian IgG) immunoglobulins.

Maximum laser compatibility
All AbC™ Compensation Bead Kits are ideal for use with any excitation source, including the 405 nm laser which has historically provided higher background signals due to auto-fluorescence with other kits on the market.

MAGPIX™ Calibration Kit (Invitrogen™)

This convenient calibration kit contains xMAP® calibrators for the MAGPIX® system classification and reporter channels. Calibration normalizes the settings for the system and helps ensure optimal and consistent microsphere classification. The kit is intended to be used with the off-plate reagent block. Each kit provides 25 calibrations.

Cell Sorting Set-up Beads (for green-yellow lasers) (Invitrogen™)

Molecular Probes® Cell Sorting Set-up Beads are reliable standards for flow cytometry sorter instrument setup and calibration. The Cell Sorting Set-up Beads approximate the size, emission wavelength, and intensity of many biological samples, and so can be used to calibrate a flow cytometer’s cell sorting system, including laser source, optics, and stream flow. The beads are optimized for checking cell sorter settings such as drop delay and efficiency (cell loss during sorting).

Cell Sorting Set-up Beads are available for use with UV, blue, green/yellow, and red lasers.These 6.0 µm beads for green/yellow lasers are fluorescent-dye infused microspheres that are ideally excited at 570 nm with emission of 575 nm, but may also be exited at 488 nm.

The dyes used in the manufacture of the Cell Sorting Set-up Beads have been carefully selected to provide emission peaks coincident with cells labeled with commonly used fluorescent dyes. The emission profiles for these standards are intentionally narrow in comparison to cells labeled with a corresponding fluorescent dye. Due to their narrow emission profiles, beads of two different fluorescent colors exhibit minimal spectral overlap, and little or no color compensation is needed when setting up for multicolor experiments.

These beads are an alternative to PeakFlow™ flow cytometry reference beads.

Pierce™ BSA Protein Digest, MS grade (Thermo Scientific™)

The Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ BSA Protein Digest Standard, LC-MS Grade, is a validated protein digest optimized for use as a quality control sample for liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) analysis of proteomic samples.

The Pierce BSA Protein Digest Standard is produced using high quality bovine serum albumin (BSA) and mass spectrometry-grade trypsin. The peptide digest standard provides excellent sequence coverage with minimal over-alkylation and missed cleavages. This digest standard has been robustly tested for peptide quality, digestion efficiency, and lot-to-lot uniformity and is suitable for LC and LC-MS applications.

FocalCheck™ Thin-Ring Fluorescent Microspheres Kit, 1.0 µm, three suspensions (Invitrogen™)

The FocalCheck Thin-Ring Fluorescent Microspheres Kit is specifically designed to help researchers examine the alignment, sensitivity and stability of confocal laser scanning microscopes. We have treated the microspheres in this kit with dyes to stain the surface of each bead, resulting in a well-defined dye layer that creates a ring in optical sections. These microspheres produce a striking visual representation of instrument misalignment or other optical aberrations, making them ideal tools for optimizing the performance of confocal microscopes. Each suspension in the kit contains beads with a different color configuration. One suspension contains beads with two ring stains (green and red). The second suspension contains beads that have a green ring stain and a dark red stain throughout. The beads in the third suspension have a red ring stain and are stained blue throughout.

The Thermo Scientific SA MALDI Matrices are highly purified, recrystallized reagents packaged in convenient single-use tubes sufficient for analyzing up to 96 samples by matrix assisted laser desorption ionization.

Matrix assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) matrices produce the cleanest mass spectrometric (MS) spectra when they are recrystallized and prepared daily, which is inconvenient and typically results in significant waste. The unique packaging of purified, recrystallized sinapinic acid (SA) MALDI matrices makes it easy to prepare high-quality MALDI reagents in minutes.

MALDI and electrospray ionization (ESI) are the most common methods to ionize peptides for MS analysis. MALDI is widely used because it is significantly faster than ESI and the ionized molecules are almost exclusively singly charged, making interpretation easier. Also, MALDI is readily automated and highly sensitive. This powerful method for MS peptide analysis is now easier to perform with our single-use, highly pure MALDI matrices that are exceptionally convenient to use.
