Flow Cytometry Size Calibration Kit (nonfluorescent microspheres) (Invitrogen™)

Our Flow Cytometry Size Calibration Kit has nonfluorescent particle-size calibration standards that provide a simple, accurate way to determine cell sizes by flow cytometry. The kit contains six suspensions of highly uniform polystyrene microspheres with the following diameters: 1.0 µm, 2.0 µm, 4.0 µm, 6.0 µm, 10.0 µm and 15.0 µm. All of the microsphere suspensions are provided in convenient dropper vials.

TaqMan™ RNase P Instrument Verification Plate for ViiA™ 7 System, 96-well (for 0.2 mL block) (Applied Biosystems™)

The ViiA™ 7 System 96-Well Instrument Verification RNase P kit is used to validate the performance of the Applied Biosystems® ViiA™ 7 Real-Time PCR Systems with the 96-Well Block.

The ViiA™ 7 System 96-Well Instrument Verification RNase P kit contains a 96-well PCR plate preloaded with the necessary reagents to detect and quantitate genomic copies of the human RNase P gene, a single-copy gene encoding the RNA moiety of the RNase P enzyme. Each well contains preloaded reaction mix (1X TaqMan® Universal PCR Master Mix, RNase P primers, and FAM™ dye-labeled probe) and template.

The ViiA™ 7 System 96-Well Instrument Verification RNase P kit must demonstrate the ability to distinguish between 5,000 and 10,000 genomic equivalents with a 99.7% confidence level for a subsequent sample run in a single well. To ensure accurate results, Applied Biosystems® recommends that the performance of your instrument be verified every six months.

DS-30 GeneScan™ Installation Standard (Applied Biosystems™)

InSpeck™ Green (505/515) Microscope Image Intensity Calibration Kit, 6 µm (Invitrogen™)

The 6.0 µm InSpeck microspheres in this kit have diameters close to those of many stained cells, providing fluorescence microscopists with intensity references for generating calibration curves and evaluating instrument performance. The aqueous suspension of microspheres can be directly applied to the sample for calibrating fluorescence intensities, or they can be mounted separately in an adjacent well or on another slide.

Pierce™ HeLa Protein Digest Standard (Thermo Scientific™)

The Thermo Scientific Pierce HeLa Protein Digest Standard is a highly validated mammalian protein digest that may be used as a quality control sample for mass spectrometry (MS) analysis of complex proteomic samples.

Features of HeLa Protein Digest Standard:

Positive control sample—complex mammalian proteome sample protein digest (>15,000 proteins) from the HeLa S3 cell line

The protein digest standard is derived from a well-established adenocarcinoma reference HeLa S3 cell line. HeLa S3 cells express over 15,000 proteins with relevant post-translational modifications, making this cell line an ideal standard for complex proteome mass spectrometry applications. The cell lysate has been digested with both LysC and trypsin to minimize tryptic missed cleavages and improve protein sequence coverage. Moreover, unlike other commercially available protein digests for MS, the Pierce HeLa Protein Digest Standard meets stringent quality testing specifications, including peptide quality, digestion efficiency, and lot-to-lot digest uniformity.

The InSpeck™ Green Microscopy Image Intensity Calibration Kit provides microsphere standards that generate a series of well-defined fluorescent intensity levels for constructing calibration curves and evaluating sample brightness. Each kit includes six separate suspensions of 2.5 µm fluorescent microspheres with relative fluorescence intensities of 100%, 30%, 10%, 3%, 1% and 0.3% covering the range of intensities commonly encountered in microscopy applications. Unstained control beads and mounting medium are also supplied. The aqueous suspensions of microspheres may be applied directly to the sample for calibrating fluorescence intensities or mounted separately in an adjacent well or on another slide.

Pierce™ TMT11plex Yeast Digest Standard (Thermo Scientific™)

The Thermo Scientific Pierce TMT11plex Yeast Digest Standard is a lyophilized yeast peptide mixture of four congenic strains labeled with TMT11plex reagents to monitor LC-MS/MS system performance for Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) quantitation.

Pierce TMT11plex Yeast Digest Standard features include:

Quantitative proteomic strategies using TMT reagents enable sample multiplexing and precise measurement of protein abundance. However, successful execution of this workflow includes multiple steps that may require optimization, including chromatography, mass spectrometry (MS), and data analysis. A critical parameter for success in this workflow is the ability to consistently detect the TMT fragment ions across the 11 channels of multiplexing. This standard has been specifically designed as a tool to monitor LC-MS/MS system performance for TMT quantitation and MS method optimization and validation.

The Pierce TMT11plex Yeast Digest Standard consists of four congenic strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (a parental line, BY4741, and three lines lacking the non-essential proteins Met6, His4, or Ura2) labeled in triplicate (knock-out strains) or duplicate (parental strain) with TMT11-plex label reagents (see figure). The knock-out strains are used in combination with the parental strain to enable comparison of peptide and protein abundance in the deleted and parental strains to monitor system performance for quantitation.

In addition to routine quality control assessment, the standard can also be used as a method development tool to measure the accuracy, precision, and dynamic range of different MS approaches, including optimization of offline fractionation, chromatography, MS acquisition, or data analysis settings.

The multifunctional applications for this standard will allow more reproducible TMT quantitation from day-to-day and experiment-to-experiment.
