FocalCheck™ Thin-Ring Fluorescent Microspheres Kit, 1.0 µm, three suspensions (Invitrogen™)

The FocalCheck Thin-Ring Fluorescent Microspheres Kit is specifically designed to help researchers examine the alignment, sensitivity and stability of confocal laser scanning microscopes. We have treated the microspheres in this kit with dyes to stain the surface of each bead, resulting in a well-defined dye layer that creates a ring in optical sections. These microspheres produce a striking visual representation of instrument misalignment or other optical aberrations, making them ideal tools for optimizing the performance of confocal microscopes. Each suspension in the kit contains beads with a different color configuration. One suspension contains beads with two ring stains (green and red). The second suspension contains beads that have a green ring stain and a dark red stain throughout. The beads in the third suspension have a red ring stain and are stained blue throughout.

Instrument Control Terbium TR-FRET Kit

The Instrument Control Terbium TR-FRET Kit allows for the rapid assessment of instrument setup for terbium (Tb)-based TR-FRET assays. LanthaScreen® and Premo™ assays require specific instrument settings. Proper instrument setup is critical to experimental success. This kit contains one tube each of 1x high and low controls which may also be used as positive control samples when running Tb TR-FRET assays.

Determine if Your Instrument is Set Up to Read Tb TR-FRET Assays
Setting up your instrument to read Tb TR-FRET is the first step in running a successful Tb TR-FRET assay. This kit allows you to quickly determine if your instrument is set up properly to read Tb TR-FRET assays. Simply add a small volume into separate wells, place the plate into the instrument and read. If the ratio of high to low control signal is below 2 the instrument may not be setup properly. If the ratio of high to low control signal is between 2 and 4 you can proceed with a Tb TR-FRET.

Use the Kit as a Positive Control in Tb TR-FRET Assays
When running Tb TR-FRET assays, add a small volume of the high and low controls to separate wells, on your assay plate. Place the plate into the instrument and read, according to instructions. A high to low control signal ratio of between 2 and 4 offers you the confidence that the instrument is performing well.

PS-Speck™ Microscope Point Source Kit (blue, green, orange & deep-red fluorescent beads) (Invitrogen™)

The PS-Speck™ Microscope Point Source Kit contains four different colors of fluorescence microspheres; each microsphere has a diameter of 0.175 +/- 0.005 µm. This exceptionall small diameter coefficient of variation makes the PS-Speck™ microspheres ideal as uniform, subresolution fluorescent point sources for calibrating instrument optics, especially in three-dimensional imaging applications. This kit's four ready-to-use 1 mL suspensions contain bright, monodisperse microspheres with excitation/emission wavelengths of 360/440 nm (blue), 505/515 nm (green), 540/560 nm (orange) and 633/660 nm (deep red). The PS-Speck™ Kit also includes a mounting protocol for the user's convenience and sufficient mounting medium to prepare about 100 slides of each.

FP One-Step Reference Kit

Many Fluorescence Polarization (FP) reading instruments require the use of a reference standard for internal calibration of the reader. The FP One Step Reference Kit contains reagents to use as green or red FP references in a single tube or a microplate high throughput screening (HTS) instrument. The green reagents can be used for readings using the following filters: 488 nm ± 5 nm for excitation and 535 nm ± 5 nm for emission (or equivalent). The red reagents can be used for readings using the following filters: 525 nm ± 5 nm for excitation and 590 nm ± 5 nm for emission (or equivalent).

The FocalCheck™ fluorescence microscope test slide #2 is specifically designed for calibrating fluorescence microscope systems and evaluating system and filter performance. This slide provides a robust, reproducible method of evaluating the performance of spectral imaging systems, as well as the ability to discriminate closely overlapping spectra. The slide consists of 6 µm-diameter microspheres labeled with a series of spectrally overlapping dyes.

InSpeck™ Red (580/605) Microscope Image Intensity Calibration Kit, 2.5 µm (Invitrogen™)

The InSpeck™ Red Microscopy Image Intensity Calibration Kit provides microsphere standards that generate a series of well-defined fluorescent intensity levels for constructing calibration curves and evaluating sample brightness. Each kit includes six separate suspensions of 2.5 µm fluorescent microspheres with relative fluorescence intensities of 100%, 30%, 10%, 3%, 1% and 0.3% covering the range of intensities commonly encountered in microscopy applications. Unstained control beads and mounting medium are also supplied. The aqueous suspensions of microspheres may be applied directly to the sample for calibrating fluorescence intensities or mounted separately in an adjacent well or on another slide.

TetraSpeck™ Microspheres, 0.1 µm, fluorescent blue/green/orange/dark red (Invitrogen™)

The 0.1 µm TetraSpeck™ microspheres are stained throughout with four different fluorescent dyes, yielding beads that each display four well-separated excitation/emission peaks - 360/430 nm (blue), 505/515 nm (green), 560/580 nm (orange) and 660/680 nm (dark red). These microspheres can greatly facilitate the calibration of conventional fluorescence microscopes, confocal laser scanning microscopes, and associated image-processing equipment for both scientific and commercial imaging, especially for multicolor applications.

Tali™ Calibration Beads (Invitrogen™)

This product contains three tubes of beads which are used to properly calibrate and align the Tali® Image-Based Cytometer.

The calibration function of the Tali® Image-Based Cytometer recalculates the dynamic range and checks the alignment of the camera. Proper alignment and calibration of the Tali® Image-Based Cytometer ensures optimal performance of the instrument. It is recommended that alignment and calibration be performed every three months.
