Thermo Scientific 6X DNA Loading Dye & SDS Solution is recommended for agarose gel analysis of DNA samples that contain high amounts of DNA binding proteins. The presence of SDS eliminates DNA-protein interactions and prevents gel-shifts. The high concentration of EDTA protects DNA from degradation by metal-dependent nucleases.

E-Gel Sample Loading Buffer is supplied as a ready-to-use 1X solution, and is formulated specifically for maximum performance on E-Gel EX gels as well as other E-Gel precast gels.

The EDTA included in the solution binds divalent metal ions and inhibits metal-dependent nucleases.

Gel Loading Buffer II (Denaturing PAGE) (Invitrogen™)

A 1–2X solution of 95% Formamide, 18 mM EDTA, and 0.025% SDS, Xylene Cyanol, and Bromophenol Blue. Supplied in one 1.4 mL tube. All Ambion® Gel Loading Solutions are rigorously tested for non-specific endonuclease activity, exonuclease activity, RNase activity, and for functionality. These are the same solutions we use in-house and in our kits.

RNA Gel Loading Dye (2X) (Thermo Scientific™)

Thermo Scientific 2X RNA Loading Dye is recommended for preparation of RiboRuler RNA ladders and RNA samples for electrophoresis on agarose or polyacrylamide gels. It contains the tracking dyes bromophenol blue and xylene cyanol FF as well as the intercalating dye ethidium bromide. In most denaturing agarose gel systems, bromophenol blue migrates slightly faster than human 5S rRNA, whereas xylene cyanol FF migrates slightly slower than 18S rRNA.

2X RNA Loading Dye contains the denaturing agent formamide, which allows RNA fragments to separate according to size even during non-denaturing electrophoresis. Formamide also stabilizes RNA.

TrackIt loading buffers are 6X solutions used for easy loading and tracking of DNA samples in agarose gels. They contain two tracking dyes: one that runs behind the sample and one that runs ahead of the sample. The tracking dyes serve as visual markers of migration during electrophoresis and indicate when maximum resolution of the DNA fragments has been achieved. Additionally, visualization of DNA bands is not obscured by the tracking dyes because they run outside the limits of most DNA samples.TrackIt Cyan/Orange Loading Buffer is recommended for DNA fragments between 50 bp and 10 Kb.TrackIt Cyan/Yellow Loading Buffer is recommended for DNA fragments between 10 bp and 1 Kb.

Novex™ TBE-Urea Sample Buffer (2X) (Invitrogen™)

For optimum performance, Novex® TBE-Urea Sample Buffer is recommended for use with Novex® TBE-urea gels. This buffer contains urea and the density agent Ficoll™, which yields sharper, straighter bands than conventional density agents, plus the tracking dyes bromophenol blue and xylene cyanol.

About Novex® TBE-urea gels
Denaturing polyacrylamide TBE-urea gels resolve single-stranded DNA oligos or RNA into sharp, distinct bands. Novex® TBE-urea gels are optimized for the analysis and purification of products ranging from 20-800 bases, making them an ideal choice for synthetic oligo analysis and purification, RNase protection assays (RPAs), in vitro transcription studies, and Northern blot analysis. Novex® TBE-urea gels are designed to run on the XCell SureLock™ Mini-Cell.

RediLoad™ Loading Buffer (Invitrogen™)

RediLoad™ is a loading buffer designed for easy loading and tracking of PCR products run in agarose gels. It is added directly to the PCR reaction mixture prior to amplification. RediLoad™ features a reagent that increases density for easy loading, and a red tracking dye that migrates at approximately 25 bp and allows easy monitoring of electrophoresis. RediLoad™ can be used as a replacement for conventional agarose loading buffer and is supplied in a 10X concentration.

Novex™ Hi-Density TBE Sample Buffer (5X) (Invitrogen™)

Novex® TBE Gels provide the highest resolution possible for analyzing restriction digests and PCR products. DNA fragments ranging from 10 to 3,000 base pairs are clearly resolved into sharp, tight bands. Novex® DNA Retardation gels are prepared with 0.5X TBE as the gel buffer. This is sufficient for good electrophoretic separation, yet low enough to promote DNA-protein interactions. Novex® TBE and DNA Retardation Gels are designed to run on the XCell SureLock™ Mini-Cell.

Formulation:

Novex® TBE and DNA Retardation Gels are manufactured with high-purity tris base, boric acid, EDTA, acrylamide, bisacrylamide, TEMED, and APS.

Recommended Buffers:

For optimum performance, Novex® TBE Running Buffer and Novex® Hi-Density TBE Sample Buffer are strongly recommended for use with these gels. Novex® Hi-Density TBE Sample Buffer contains the density agent Ficoll™, which yields sharper, straighter bands than conventional density agents, and the tracking dyes Bromophenol Blue and Xylene Cyanol.

BlueJuice™ Gel Loading Buffer (10X) (Invitrogen™)

BlueJuice Gel Loading Buffer (10X) is designed for easy loading and tracking of DNA samples in agarose or native polyacrylamide gels. Visualization of DNA bands will not be obscured by the tracking dyes because they run outside the limits of most DNA samples.

Product use
The recommended concentration of this buffer for use with all DNA samples run on agarose gels is 1X. For acrylamide gels, the recommended concentration is 0.5 X.
