SOLiD™ Buffer E, Double (Applied Biosystems™)

The SOLiD™ Buffers are needed for ligation sequencing on the 5500⁄5500xl Genetic Analyzer. SOLiD™ Buffer E, Double (PN 4463016) consists of SOLiD™ Buffer E Part 1 and SOLiD™ Buffer E Part 2, which need to be mixed prior to running on the instrument. SOLiD™ Buffer E, Double contains sufficient reagents to run 950 to 1632 cycles, or up to 136 cycles per lane.

These kits are individually orderable components of the SOLiD™ Run Cycle Buffer Kit (PN 4461840). Supplemental buffers can be used to replace components of the main buffer kit. Each double size has sufficient buffer for covering two FlowChips.

5500 W Buffer E (Applied Biosystems™)

5500 W Buffer E is needed for ligation sequencing on the 5500 W Series genetic analyzers. Supplemental buffers like this one can be used to replace components of the main buffer kit. 5500 W Buffer E consists of 5500 W Buffer E Part 1 and 5500 W Buffer E Part 2, which need to be mixed prior to running on the instrument. 5500 W Buffer E contains sufficient reagents to run up to 432 cycles, or 72 cycles per lane for 6 lanes.

SequenceRx Enhancer Solution A (Invitrogen™)

SequenceRx Enhancer Solution A is a novel reaction co-solvent that facilitate sequencing through problematic GC-rich regions,direct repeats, inverted repeats, hairpins, and/or short nucleotide repeats. The component is added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture is incubated in a thermocycler as usual. Early terminations and/or low signal strength aretypically improved within the troublesome region, permitting additional sequence data to be obtained. SequenceRx Enhancer Solution A is fully compatible with BigDye terminator, dRhodamine dye terminator, and rhodaminedye terminator chemistries and all sequencing platforms.

Conditioning Reagent, 3500 Series (Applied Biosystems™)

The 3500 series conditioning reagent is available as a ready-to-use pouch, and is used for priming the polymer pump, washing the polymer pump between polymer type changes, and during instrument shut down. The pouch has adequate volume for a one-time use. Incorporated into the label is a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. The top part of the pouch fitment is sealed with a plastic film, which should be removed prior to installation on to the instrument.

This kit contains reagents for Procise® N-terminal protein sequencing.

R1 (5% PITC in N-Heptane) (Applied Biosystems™)

5% PITC (phenylisothiocynate) in heptane is used for N-terminal protein sequencing applications. PITC is a derivatization reagent used to tag amino acids in the protein sequencer and amino acid analyzer. An optimal PITC concentration is required to ensure efficient amino acid coupling with minimal background contribution from excess reagent. This reagent is used in conjunction with other protein sequencing reagents.

S2B, Ethyl Acetate, 450 mL (Applied Biosystems™)

This reagent is intended for N-terminal protein sequencing applications.

Use with other protein sequencing reagents: 20% Acetonitrile in Water, Procise® Sequencing System Model 491 and Model 494, 5% PITC in N-Heptane, Trifluoroacetic Acid, N-Butyl Chloride, 3.5% THF⁄Water, Isopropanol and Acetonitrile
