PrioCHECK™ FMDV NS Antibody ELISA Kit

The PrioCHECK® FMDV NS ELISA is an ELISA that detects antibodies against the highly conserved non-structural (NS) protein of the FMD virus. The test can therefore be used for all species.

Test procedure
The ELISA test plates of the kit contain the FMDV nonstructural protein, 3ABC, captured by the coated anti-3ABC monoclonal antibody (mAb). A second mAb labeled with an enzyme that generates a color signal (the detection antibody) is then added. The reaction between the FMDV-NS antigen and the detection antibody is blocked by antibodies directed against the non-structural proteins present in the sample. The signal is then measured and when no color is formed, the antibodies in the sample have competed for the viral protein coated on the plate. Samples with a percent inhibition (PI) value of ≥ 50% have shown an immune response to the foot and mouth disease virus. With this result, the sample is immuno-reactive (i.e., anti-FMDV antibodies are present).

PrioCHECK™ Porcine Salmonella Kit

The PrioCHECK® Salmonella Antibody ELISA is a fast, effective, and economical test for large-scale screening of pigs and for application in control programs of Salmonella infections. The PrioCHECK® Salmonella Antibody ELISA uses purified lipopolysaccharide (LPS) O-antigen of S. Typhimurium and S. Choleraesuis. This makes the PrioCHECK® Salmonella Antibody ELISA specific for the serogroup B, C1, and D (the most common serotypes in Europe, Asia, and America).

Test procedure
The PrioCHECK® Salmonella Antibody ELISA is an indirect ELISA for the detection of antibodies against Salmonella LPS O-antigens 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12 found in pig serum, plasma, and meat juice samples. Test samples are incubated in plates coated with the purified LPS isolated from S. Typhimurium and S. Choleraesuis at room temperature. Plates are then washed and an anti-swine antibody labeled with an enzyme that generates a color signal is added. The signal is measured and if color develops the sample is positive for anti-Salmonella LPS antibodies. Color intensity is directly related to the amount of anti-Salmonella antibody present in the test sample.

Optimized Sample Preparation
The MicroSEQ® Listeria monocytogenes Detection Kit is optimized for use with PrepSEQ® Nucleic Acid Extraction Kit to produce high-quality bacterial DNA samples for PCR-based detection from a wide range of food and environmental samples for detection of 1–3 cfu per 25 grams of sample. In combination with the automated MagMAX™ Express-96 Deep Well Magnetic Particle Processor, this optimized solution enables laboratories to prepare a wide range of sample types at rates of up to hundreds of samples per eight-hour shift.

VetMAX™-Gold AIV Detection Kit

The VetMAX™-Gold AIV Detection Kit (Avian Influenza Virus RNA Test Kit) is a highly sensitive, qualitative, one-step, real-time RT-PCR assay to detect Avian Influenza Virus (AIV) RNA isolated from poultry (chicken/turkey) oropharyngeal/tracheal swab samples.

Features of the kit include:

• The first AIV PCR solution approved by the US Department of Agriculture
• Detects two sequences coding for viral matrix and one sequence coding for nucleoprotein
• Single well/tube, RT-PCR assay

The VetMAX™-Gold AIV Detection Kit is a screening tool that detects sequences representing portions of the viral matrix (two distinct targets) and nucleoprotein (one target). These are genes that are common to all AIV subtypes and found on viral RNA extracted from poultry samples.

The assay is a single-well/tube, real-time RT-PCR assay in which RNA is reverse-transcribed into cDNA, and AIV and Xeno™ RNA targets are amplified and detected in real time using fluorescent TaqMan® probes (hydrolysis probe chemistry). The kit includes:

AIV is an enveloped, negative-sense RNA virus of the genus influenzavirusA and family Orthomyxoviridae. AIV subtypes are defined by the surface glycoproteins hemagglutinin and neuraminidase. Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) strains exist in avian reservoir hosts and can be transmitted to poultry. H5 and H7 subtypes of LPAI strains are unique in their capability to undergo host adaptation and to evolve into highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). HPAI viral infections arise de novo in poultry infected with LPAI H5 and H7 subtypes and become rapidly fatal due to an overwhelming systemic collapse.


Within the U.S., laboratories must receive authorization from their state veterinarian prior to ordering and using this kit for the diagnosis of myobacterium avium spp. paratuberculosis.
