The myImageAnalysis Software comprises a complete set of easy-to-use research tools for the quantitative digital analysis of image data from electrophoresis gels and Western blots. The software uses a powerful algorithm to automatically select and identify lanes and band-boundaries for calculation of migration distances or densitometry. Intuitive, ready-to-use functions (buttons) provide molecular weight determination, relative and absolute quantitation, and purity calculation. Images are easily loaded, viewed, compared, adjusted (e.g., contrast, rotation, crop) and annotated. The program reads and writes to standard file formats, providing compatibility with nearly any source image or final presentation method.

The myImageAnalysis Software was developed for use with images captured by the Thermo Scientific myECL Imager (purchase of the imager includes the software). However, myImageAnalysis Software is an independent, standalone product whose complete array of features is available and functional for analysis of any suitable-quality image of a gel or blot. Digitized images acquired via any imager or scanning device can be analyzed so long as they can be exported to a standard file format (TIFF preserves the most accurate densitometry information).

Minor Variant Finder Software (Download Format) (Applied Biosystems™)

Minor Variant Finder Software is simple, easy-to-use desktop software designed for the accurate detection and reporting of minor variants in Sanger sequencing traces with a detection level as low as 5%. Sophisticated algorithms filter out systemic noise components in bi-directional sequencing traces to quickly and accurately highlight and present genuine somatic minor variant candidates for review and reporting. This version of the software is provided as a digital download. For USB format, please see Cat. No. A31100.

Confidently call variants as low as 5%
The innovative algorithms of the Minor Variant Finder Software remove the background noise by comparing test sample(s) with a normal control sample. The algorithms produce a list of candidate variants and cleaned-up electropherograms for users to confidently review and confirm candidate variants on both forward and reverse strands. Review indicators facilitate user review of candidate minor variants detected during analysis.

The software can identify 5% minor variants with a sensitivity >= 95% and specificity >= 99% within the region of overlap among the forward and reverse test and control .ab1 files.

Simple and easy integration
The simple, workflow-based user interface guides users through each step from setup to review. Standard protocols for fluorescent dye terminator Sanger sequencing can be used, requiring little to no change. The minor variant candidates are presented for review in a convenient viewer tool and can be reported in a .csv and .vcf output file.

This desktop software supports .ab1 files generated from Applied Biosystems™ 3500, 3500xl, 3730, 3730xl, 3130, and 3130xl genetic analyzer instrument systems.

Complementary NGS confirmation
For high-throughput labs using next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, minor variants from NGS findings can be confirmed with Sanger sequencing quickly and cost-effectively. The confirmation data can be visualized in an alignment view and Venn diagram for reporting.

Minor Variant Finder Software uses the GRCh38 human reference genome.

Attune™ Computer Upgrade Kit (Applied Biosystems™)

The Attune® Computer Upgrade Kit allows the Attune® Acoustic Focusing Cytometer to operate the Attune® Cytometric Software v2.1. This software is required for use of the Attune® Auto Sampler, which enables rapid processing of multiple samples by automatically analyzing samples from 96- or 384-well standard and deep-well plates. The Attune® Computer Upgrade Kit includes a Dell® 64-bit computer with Windows® 7 operating system, Attune® Cytometric Software v2.1, and v2.1 documentation, as well as a visit by a trained service technician to assist with data transfer from the existing computer system.

Simple to Use
The Attune® instrument and software design were developed with customer ease-of-use in mind. For example, the Attune® Auto Sampler has fluidic bottles with sensors that inform the user when fluids need to be replaced. And the auto sampler’s indicator lights and warning systems have been designed to ensure that a user who has walked away from the system can easily see the system status at all times.

In addition, setting up an experiment with the Attune® Cytometric Software is simple. Using a virtual plate layout view, users can create compensation wells, define instrument settings, and identify samples. The software also allows multiple experiments to be defined on a single plate. This intuitive software allows quick learning and data analysis. For example, a heat-map view allows rapid screening and confirmation of samples while the instrument is acquiring data.

Increased Functionality
The Attune® Cytometric Software v2.1 has added functionality beyond supporting the use of 96- and 384-well plates, including:

Improved Sample Use
One problem associated with syring-driven systems is inefficient sample use. However, the sample recovery function included in the v2.1 software allows sample that has been drawn into the syringe to be returned to another tube after the data file has been completed, to avoid possible contamination of the original sample. In this way, the remaining sample is available for use in other analyses.
