Distilled Water Gibco™

Cell culture quality
This water is prepared by distillation and filtration (0.1 µm), with no added substances. We monitor the water quality on a routine basis. Conductivity, total organic carbon, endotoxin, and bioburden are tested daily; metals are tested monthly.

Proven performance
The performance and consistency expected from Gibco® liquid media products depends on the high-quality water we use in manufacturing. This water is also bottled as Gibco® Distilled Water.

Use in cell culture and molecular biology applications
This distilled water can be used for a wide variety of applications, including preparing powder or Advanced Granulation Technology™ (AGT™) media, making solutions, and diluting buffers.

Dual-site cGMP manufacturing and quality system
This water is produced at a cGMP-compliant facility located in Paisley, Scotland, UK. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard. For supply chain continuity, we offer an identical product made in our Grand Island facility (15230-162). This facility is also registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standards.

Nuclease-Free Water (not DEPC-Treated) Invitrogen™

Nuclease-free Water (not DEPC-treated) has been deionized, filtered into the final bottle, and autoclaved. It is ready to use and requires no preparation, mixing, or autoclaving. This nuclease-free water is rigorously tested for contaminating nonspecific endonuclease, exonuclease, and RNase activity.

Using Nuclease-free Water
Because this water is not DEPC-treated, it is recommended for applications for which residual DEPC might prove detrimental (e.g., oocyte microinjection).

DEPC-treated Water Thermo Scientific™

Thermo Scientific deionized, diethylpyrocarbonate (DEPC) treated and 0.22 µm membrane-filtered water. It is ideal for applications involving RNA.

UltraPure™ DNase/RNase-Free Distilled Water Invitrogen™

UltraPure™ DNase/RNase-Free Distilled Water is designed for use in all molecular biology applications. It is 0.1-µm membrane-filtered and tested for DNase and RNase activity.

Performance and quality testing
No DNase, RNase, or protease activity detected. Our distilled water system is routinely monitored for compliance with current USP monograph test requirements for Water for Injection (WFI).

Water, nuclease-free Thermo Scientific™

Thermo Scientific nuclease-free water is deionized and 0.22 µm membrane-filtered nuclease-free water. It is ideal for all molecular biology applications.

Water For Injection (WFI) for Cell Culture Gibco™

Gibco™ Water For Injection (WFI) for Cell Culture is high-quality water for use as a solvent in the preparation of cell culture media, laboratory reagents, buffers, and bioprocess liquids.

Water For Injection quality
WFI for Cell Culture meets USP/EP monograph for Water For Injection at point of fill. The water is prepared by distillation and filtration (0.1 µm), with no added substances. Water quality is monitored on a routine basis. Conductivity, total organic carbon, endotoxin, and bioburden are tested daily; metals are tested monthly.

Gibco quality and performance
The performance and consistency expected from Gibco liquid media products depends on the high-quality water used in manufacturing. This water is packaged in bottles and CX5-14 bioprocess containers as Gibco Water For Injection (WFI) for Cell Culture. In addition to meeting USP/EP standards, each lot is quality tested for sterility, endotoxin, conductivity, pH, osmolality, nitrates, and total organic carbon.

WFI for Cell Culture can be used for a wide variety of applications, including preparing powder or Advanced Granulation Technology™ (AGT™) media, making solutions, diluting buffers, and cleaning and rinsing agents.

UltraPure™ DEPC-Treated Water Invitrogen™

UltraPure™ DEPC-treated Water is suitable for use with RNA. It is prepared by incubating with 0.1% diethylpyrocarbonate (DEPC), and is then autoclaved to remove the DEPC. Sterile filtered.

Performance and Quality Testing: No DNase or RNase activity detected.

DEPC-Treated Water Invitrogen™

Ambion® DEPC-treated water is certified nuclease-free and supplied in five bottles containing 100 mL each. DEPC-treated water is autoclaved pre- and post-packaging to ensure sterility and inactivation of DEPC. It is rigorously tested for contaminating nonspecific endonuclease, exonuclease, and RNase activity.

RT-PCR Grade Water Invitrogen™

RT-PCR Grade Water is certified free of nucleases, and free of nucleic acid contamination that may cause false-positive signals in RT-PCR. The RT-PCR Grade Water is ready to use and requires no preparation, mixing, or autoclaving.

Quality control
RT-PCR Grade Water is tested for prokaryotic as well as eukaryotic genomic DNA contamination using an ultrasensitive PCR assay. It is provided in 10 x 1.5 mL tubes. Prokaryotic DNA contamination is assessed by performing PCR with primers to 16S rRNA. Eukaryotic DNA contamination is assessed by performing PCR with primers to 18S rRNA. It is rigorously tested for contaminating nonspecific endonuclease, exonuclease, and RNase activity and is suitable for any PCR application.
