The iBind Western Device works exclusively with iBind Cards and the iBind Solution Kit or iBind Fluorescent Detection (FD) Solution Kit to process one mini-membrane for immunodetection. The iBind device provides automated convenience and superior reproducibility over traditional manual methods. Each solution is released from the iBind device wells to an iBind Card via SLF in ~2.5 hours. The glass fiber matrix of the card allows for homogenous and consistent flow of the solutions over the membrane, increasing the antigen-antibody interaction.

Nitrocellulose membrane
The nitrocellulose membrane (0.2 µm pore size) in the stacks is composed of 100% pure nitrocellulose to provide high-quality transfer. The membrane is compatible with commonly used detection methods such as staining, chemiluminescence, and fluorescence. The proteins bind to the membrane through hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions. The protein binding capacity is 209 µg/cm2.

Mini transfer stacks
The mini-size (8 cm x 8 cm) Power Blotter Select Stacks can be used with all Invitrogen Novex, Bolt, and NuPAGE mini-size gels or equivalent.

Pierce™ Recombinant Protein L Thermo Scientific™

Purified (unconjugated) Thermo Scientific Pierce Recombinant Protein L is useful as the basis for preparing various kinds of probes or affinity media for detection or purification of mouse and human antibodies in immunoassays and antibody purification protocols.

Features of Recombinant Protein L:

• Contains four immunoglobulin-binding domains per protein
• Binds members of all classes of Ig (IgG, IgM, IgA, IgE and IgD) that contain kappa light chains
• Binds single chain variable fragments (scFv) and Fab fragments that contain kappa light chains

Protein L is an immunoglobulin-binding protein that was originally derived from the bacteria Peptostreptococcus magnus, but is now produced recombinantly. Protein L has the unique ability to bind through kappa light chain interactions without interfering with an antibody's antigen-binding site. This gives Protein L the ability to bind a wider range of Ig classes and subclasses than other antibody-binding proteins. Protein L will bind to all classes of Ig (IgG, IgM, IgA, IgE and IgD). Protein L will also bind single chain variable fragments (scFv) and Fab fragments. Protein L binds kappa I, III, and IV in human and kappa I on mouse.
