SureLock Retrofit Kit for XCell II™ Mini-Cell Invitrogen™

The SureLock Retrofit Kit allows you to convert an XCell II™ Mini-Cell into an XCell SureLock® Mini-Cell. The kit consists of a SureLock® mini-cell lid, gel tension wedge, and molded mini-gel buffer dam.

More About the XCell SureLock Mini-Cell
The XCell SureLock®Mini-Cell holds gels firmly with a simple gel tension wedge. When the lever on the gel tension wedge is pushed forward into the locked position, an even horizontal force is generated. This seals the gel/buffer core assembly firmly into position in the lower buffer chamber (Figure 1). The positive locking action of the gel tension wedge ensures a trouble-free, leak-free gel run every time.

Empty Gel Cassettes, mini, 1.5 mm Invitrogen™

Empty gel cassettes give you the option of pouring your own gels while still enjoying the advantages of the XCell SureLock Mini-Cell. The cassettes are sealed on three sides to prevent leaking. They are available in two thicknesses (1.0 mm and 1.5 mm) and can be used with seven comb types (1 well, 2 well, 5 well, 10 well, 12 well, 15 well, and 2D well). Since these empty cassettes are pre-sealed with the slot pre-taped, a bulky casting stand is not necessary.

Mini Gel Tank and Blot Module Set

The Mini Gel Tank and Blot Module Set is an electrophoresis and blotting system for mini gels. The Mini Gel Tank is a vertical mini-gel electrophoresis system with a unique tank design that has convenient side-by-side gel loading and enhanced viewing during use. The tank can accommodate up to two gels per run with each gel run in its own separate chamber, making it easy to run just one gel. The tank is compatible with all Invitrogen precast mini gels and SureCast handcast gels.

The Mini Blot Module is a wet transfer device used exclusively with the Mini Gel Tank. The tank accommodates one blot module per chamber, or two blot modules total with the side-by-side layout. The universal connection and molded gasket make the blot module easy to use, while the inner core of the blot module allows for use of less methanol-based transfer buffer per wet transfer. At the recommended conditions and constant voltage, proteins can be transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes typically in 30 to 60 minutes.

About the Mini Gel Tank
The Mini Gel Tank is compatible with Novex gels, NuPAGE gels, and Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels. Each Mini Gel Tank can accommodate up to two gels per run. The unique tank design enables convenient side-by-side gel loading and enhanced viewing during use. Optimized conditions using constant voltage allow for Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels to be run in approximately 35 minutes. Run times may vary depending on buffer conditions and power supplies used.

About Bolt Bis-Tris Plus Gels
Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels are precast polyacrylamide gels designed for optimal separation of your small- to medium-sized proteins under denaturing conditions. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels are designed to deliver consistent gel performance and provide a neutral pH environment that minimizes protein modifications. Bolt gels are ideal for western blot transfer and analysis, and any other techniques where protein integrity is crucial. Also use Bolt gels to obtain optimal results for your day-to-day protein separation needs. Bolt Bis-Tris Plus gels come in four polyacrylamide concentrations: 8, 10, 12, and 4-12% gradient and multiple well formats. Bolt Bis-Tris gels feature wedge-shaped wells, which can easily load up to two times more sample volume allowing for detection of proteins in very dilute samples or visualization of low-abundance proteins.

For transferring your proteins to a membrane, we recommend using for Bolt Transfer Buffer for traditional wet transfer using the Mini Blot Module. Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be done using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device.
