100 bp DNA Ladder Invitrogen™

Invitrogen 100 bp DNA Ladder is designed for sizing and approximate quantification of double-stranded DNA in the range of 100 bp to 2,000 bp. 100 bp DNA Ladder consists of 13 individual chromatography-purified DNA fragments and has reference bands at 2000, 1500, and 600 bp for easy orientation.

100 bp DNA Ladder is ideal for separation on 1–2% agarose gels.

Product use
The double-stranded DNA ladder can be visualized on 1–2% agarose gels after ethidium bromide or SYBR Safe staining. The ladder is designed with a uniform intensity of DNA bands for a clear view of each band. An exact amount of DNA in each band allows approximate quantification of DNA samples.

This ladder can be radiolabeled with T4 polynucleotide kinase or T4 DNA polymerase.

Pierce™ Silver Stain Rescue Reagent Thermo Scientific™

The Thermo Scientific Pierce Silver Stain Rescue Reagent enables removal of undesirable background from unevenly and overly developed silver-stained polyacrylamide electrophoresis gels.

This simple, two-reagent kit recovers and corrects overdeveloped silver-stained gels by uniformly removing developed silver. By slowly reversing the development process over several minutes, the Pierce Silver Stain Rescue Reagent allows one to monitor and stop destaining when the level is best for the bands of interest. In most silver staining procedures for protein gels, addition of stop-solution must be carefully timed to achieve optimal staining results; frequently, otherwise useful SDS-PAGE data are obscured by over-development at this critical step. The Silver Stain Rescue Reagent can recover over-stained gels, eliminating the need to repeat the experiment (run and stain a new gel). Most excessively stained mini gels can be corrected in less than one hour, depending on the working concentration selected.

Pierce Silver Stain Rescue Reagent enables removal of undesirable background from unevenly and overly developed silver-stained gels. Anomalies in the gel matrix, prolonged development or overloaded protein often cause high background and uneven staining in silver-stained gels. Such staining problems often impede detection of important results and prevent use of the gel image for publications. The Silver Stain Rescue Reagent enables simple recovery of a quality stained gel image by effectively reversing the silver development process. The rescue reagent working solution is easily prepared, and the procedure is performed at room temperature in an ordinary lighted laboratory. The formulation removes the silver stain from gels slowly so that the destaining process can be easily monitored and stopped when the desired level of background has been removed. Additionally, a slight modification of the default working solution formulation enables flexibility in destaining time and image quality.

Blocking micro-plates, membranes or tissues with a SuperBlock Buffer yields a high signal-to-noise ratio in most detection systems. The protein-based formulation does not contain any immunoglobulins, albumin, or endogenous biotin, making it compatible in many situations where traditional blocking agents fail. The buffer is especially effective at blocking coated polystyrene microplates (96-well plates) and stabilizing them for drying and storage for later use.

Coomassie Fluor™ Orange Protein Gel Stain (Ready-To-Use Solution) Invitrogen™

Molecular Probes' proprietary Coomassie Fluor Orange protein gel stain provides fast, simple, sensitive staining of proteins separated by SDS-PAGE. After electrophoresis, the gel is stained, rinsed and photographed. Staining is complete in less than an hour – no separate fixation or destaining steps are required, and there is no risk of overstaining the gel. Stained proteins can be visualized using a standard 300 nm UV transilluminator or a laser-based scanner. Coomassie Fluor Orange protein gel stain is also available in a 5 liter size (Cat. no. C-33251).

Thermo Scientific NoLimits is a collection of 36 highly-purified individual DNA fragments ranging from 10 to 20,000 bp. Unlike other vendors, where custom standards are produced by PCR, Thermo Scientific NoLimits DNA fragments are produced using specifically designed plasmids purified by patented technology.Plasmid DNA, digested with Thermo Scientific Restriction Enzymes, is chromatography-purified to prepare the individual DNA fragments from the digestion mixture. The results are extremely pure DNA fragments, free of any truncated or degraded molecules. These custom DNA fragments are the best custom standards for applications ranging from electrophoresis (both gel and capillary) to HPLC and beyond.

O’RangeRuler 20 bp DNA Ladder, ready-to-use Thermo Scientific™

Thermo Scientific O'RangeRuler 20 bp DNA Ladder 20-300 bp is designed for precise sizing of PCR products and other double-stranded DNA fragments in agarose or non-denaturing polyacrylamide gels. It is a step ladder with 20 bp differences between the DNA fragments and consists of purified and ligated blunt-ended basic unit repeats of 20 bp. This DNA ladder is not recommended for DNA quantification.

O'RangeRuler 20 bp DNA Ladder is supplied with 6X Orange DNA Loading Dye for sample DNA. Orange G dye can be used to monitor DNA migration in agarose or polyacrylamide gels and migrates at 50 bp in a 1% agarose gel. It is the preferable dye when visualization of small DNA fragments is important.

Novex™ Tricine SDS Sample Buffer (2X) Invitrogen™

Novex Tricine SDS Sample Buffer (2X) is used to prepare protein samples for denaturing gel electrophoresis using tricine gels. Novex Tricine SDS Sample Buffer is specifically formulated for optimal electrophoresis of small proteins and peptides. The sample buffer is formulated with Coomassie Blue G and Phenol Red as tracking dyes instead of bromophenol blue. Coomassie Blue G gives a sharp dye front with Tricine SDS running buffers and migrates much closer to the moving ion front than bromophenol blue. Bromophenol blue runs more slowly than some peptides. This ensures that small peptides do not run off the gels.

To use: Heat the sample in a 1X dilution (reduced or non-reduced) at 85°C for 2 minutes for optimal results.

Recommended buffers: Use tricine running buffers with tricine sample buffers to obtain the benefits of this gel system.
