EVOS™ Onstage Two-port Perfusion Accessory Invitrogen™

The EVOS perfusion accessory enables perfusion of a sample in the EVOS Onstage Incubator through two tube ports. The EVOS Onstage Incubator is an environmental chamber designed specifically for the EVOS FL Auto Imaging System. When in use the perfusion accessory replaces the EVOS Onstage Incubator hose.

The EVOS Onstage Two-port Perfusion Accessory offers you these advantages:
• Ability to connect perfusion lines to the EVOS Onstage Incubator
• Facilitation of media exchanges
• Enhanced viability of sensitive cell types
• Extended live cell imaging duration

Designed for live cell imaging
The two ports on the perfusion accessory accommodate standard 1/8-in tubing, which is directed into the vessel on the stage. Perfusion of the sample with fresh medium or other liquids is generally done using a syringe or peristaltic pump (not included).

The EVOS Onstage Incubator is operated through the interface of the EVOS FL Auto Imaging system, and all environmental and acquisition parameters are controlled through this interface. So the incubator and imaging system operate as one fully integrated unit, making imaging live cells over time more convenient. Further, the heated lid of the EVOS Onstage Incubator helps prevent condensation and a glass coating of indium tin oxide maximizes light transmission.

EVOS™ Vessel Holder for Automated Stage, two 25 x 75 mm slides

EVOS vessel holders allow a perfect fit of your microscope slide, cell culture flask or dish, or micro-well plate to the stage of the EVOS imaging systems for increased precision in sample alignment. This particular vessel holder securely holds two 25 x 75 mm standard or chamber microscope slides and is specific for the automated stage of the EVOS FL Auto Imaging System. It is just one of many easy-to-change vessel holders and stage plates available for this instrument platform. With a snug and secure fit, yet readily switched, these accessories make imaging samples in a range of vessel holders convenient and easy.

EVOS™ Vessel Holder, ibidi 35 mm Petri dishes

EVOS vessel holders allow a perfect fit of your microscope slide, cell culture flask or dish, or micro-well plate to the stage of the EVOS imaging systems for increased precision in sample alignment. This particular vessel holder accommodates four ibidi 35 mm Petri dishes. It is just one of many easy-to-change vessel holders and stage plates available for this instrument platform. With a snug and secure fit, yet readily switched, these accessories make imaging samples in a range of vessel holders convenient and easy.

Note: an adapter is needed for use of this holder on the EVOS FL Auto automated stage.

EVOS™ 40X Objective, achromat, LWD, phase-contrast

This achromat objective is ideal for general applications This is a long working distance (LWD) objective that is optimized for the imaging of slides, cell culture dishes and flasks, and microtiter plates. This is also a phase-contrast objective, making it useful for hard-to-see, translucent speciments. All EVOS objectives offer outstanding optical performance from visible light to near infrared light. The extensive choice of objectives satisfies needs across the spectrum of magnifications and optical specifications.

Image Quality
Microscope objectives may be the most important components of an optical microscope because they are responsible for primary image formation. Image quality is crucial to experimental success and a requirement for publication; EVOS objectives afford that quality across the visible spectrum to near infrared light. This performance results from years of lens manufacture perfection. EVOS objectives have the same or better numerical apertures as any other manufacturer's in the same class, and the broad selection means you have choices for your imaging requirements.

Objective Classes

Achromat objectives are perfect for general applications, with standard correction of color and focus.

Fluorite objectives deliver excellent resolution and are made with higher numerical apertures than achromat objectives, resulting in brighter fluorescence signal and higher contrast imaging. The higher optical quality greatly reduces optical aberrations, and corrections for color and focus are at higher levels than achromat objectives. Fluorite objectives are ideally suited for fluorescence and demanding transmitted light applications, where the higher contrast make them ideally suited for color imaging.

Apochromat objectives are manufactured to the highest levels of resolution, fluorescence brightness, and contrast; chromatic aberrations are almost eliminated. They are recommended for the most demanding applications, particularly at magnifications of 60x and above. Apochromatic objectives are the best choice for the capture of color images in white light.

Brightfield Contrast versus Phase Contrast Objectives
Brightfield is the most basic form of light microscopy and is accomplished by sample absorption of light. A higher density area in a sample will absorb more light, thus increasing contrast in those areas.

Phase contrast objectives are most useful for hard to see, translucent specimens. This method of contrast is accomplished by converting phase shifts, caused by light passing through a translucent specimen, into brightness changes (i.e., contrast).

Long Working Distance versus Coverslip-Corrected Objectives
Long working distance (LWD) objectives are optimized for use through vessels with a nominal wall thickness of 0.9-1.5 mm. This includes vessels commonly used in cell culture and cell-based assays, such as slides, cell culture dishes and flasks, microtiter well plates, etc. Coverslip-corrected objectives are optimized for use through #1.5 coverslips (thickness approximately 0.17 mm). These objectives have a higher magnification/NA ratio and provide higher resolution compared to LWD objectives.

Imaging ATR Accessory Thermo Scientific™

The Thermo Scientific™ Imaging ATR Accessory provides enhanced spatial resolution and high speed data acquisition for FT-IR chemical imaging applications. The Thermo Scientific Imaging ATR accessory expands our portfolio of ATR products for Thermo Scientific Nicolet™ infrared microscopes with a tool uniquely suited to support chemical imaging studies with enhanced spatial resolution. Imaging a sample in contact with a germanium ATR crystal effectively improves the resolution by a factor of four. The Imaging ATR Accessory is a faster alternative to single point ATR mapping because only a single, large area, contact point is required. Coupling ATR with an infrared microscope creates a unique capability to explore the microscopic structure of heterogeneous samples. Observable features in specimens such as defects, particles, fibers or inks may be analyzed just by contacting the feature with the ATR crystal surface using guidance from microscope viewer.

EVOS™ Vessel Holder/Adapter for Automated Stage, with retention, multi-well plates

EVOS vessel holders allow a perfect fit of your microscope slide, cell culture flask or dish, or micro-well plate to the stage of the EVOS imaging systems for increased precision in sample alignment. This particular vessel holder serves two functions: it holds multi-well plates (w = 128.2 mm, h = 86.2 mm) and also acts as an adapter for the standard vessel holders (cat numbers AMEPVH001 thru AMEPVH018). This vessel holder/adapter is specific for the automated stage of the EVOS FL Auto Imaging System and has a lever for added convenience. EVOS™ XL Core Attachable Mechanical Stage

The EVOS XL Core Mechanical Stage is an alternative to the universal, fixed stage provided with the EVOS XL Core Imaging System. This mechanical stage has X-Y axis controls and a vessel holder framework that accommodates our broad range of vessel holders for smaller sample vessel types, such as microscope slides and 35 mm dishes. Larger sample vessels, such as T-75 flasks or multi-well plates, fit directly onto the stage. Both vessel holders and large vessels are held securely in place by a stage clip during operation. The spring-loaded clip allows fast and easy vessel changes, such as during operations inside a hood or during processing of multiple samples.
