Unlike traditional fiber wound swabs, 4N6FLOQSwabs have no internal absorbent core to disperse and entrap the specimen—the sample stays close to the surface for faster and more efficient elution. The perpendicular Nylon fibers act like a soft brush that facilitates improved collection of cellular material. Capillary action between the fiber strands facilitates strong hydraulic uptake of liquid sample, and the sample stays close to the surface allowing easy elution.

Genotyping applications
Collecting DNA samples for genotyping and sequencing using the GenoTube Livestock Swab is easy and rapid. After the swab containing the sample is placed back in the tube, the sample is dried, and the DNA in the sample is conserved. The tube can be transported and stored under normal conditions without refrigeration. DNA contained in the sample remains stable for years.
