PBS Tablets Gibco™

Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) is a balanced salt formulation used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissue, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents. PBS is formulated without calcium and magnesium for rinsing chelators from the culture before cell dissociation. Each 5 g Gibco® PBS Tablet should be dissolved in 500 mL of distilled water. The pH will be 7.45 and requires no adjustment.

Collagenase, Type I, powder Gibco™

Collagenase is a protease that cleaves the bond between a neutral amino acid (X) and glycine in the sequence Pro-X-Gly-Pro, which is found with high frequency in collagen. Collagenase is unique among proteases in its ability to degrade the triple-helical native collagen fibrils commonly found in connective tissues such as skin, tendon, blood vessels, and bone. Collagenase disaggregation is suitable for the culture of human tumors, mouse kidney, human adult and fetal brain, and many other tissues including epithelium. Collagenase is relatively gentle, dissociates well at physiological temperature and pH, and requires no mechanical agitation or special equipment.

Gibco® Collagenase Type I is isolated from Clostridium histolyticum and packaged as a lyophilized, non-sterile powder for research use in cell or tissue dissociation, and organ perfusions. Gibco® Collagenase Type I activity is guaranteed to be greater than 125 units/mg. Compared to other collagenase preparations, Gibco® Collagenase Type I has average levels of collagenase, caseinase, clostripain, and tryptic activities, and is well-suited for the digestion of fat, adrenal, and liver cells or tissues.

CD BHK-21 Production Medium Gibco™

Gibco® CD BHK-21 Production Medium is a chemically defined, protein-free cell culture medium. It is designed to support the growth of BHK-21 cells in serum-free suspension culture. This medium is suitable for large-scale manufacturing applications.

Gibco® CD BHK-21 Production Medium is the first cell culture medium supporting complete serum-free and protein-free processes for BHK-21 cells. The dry powder format is easy to reconstitute, since it has no hydrolysates in the formulation. Adapting cells from serum-containing media is a rapid and simple procedure. BHK-21 cells can achieve high cell densities and maintain high cell viability in this medium.

Gibco® CD BHK-21 Production Medium is suitable for large-scale suspension culture. Because it does not require supplementation with serum or other undefined components, Gibco® CD BHK-21 Production Medium eliminates the risks associated with serum, while allowing you to achieve consistent virus titers and simplifying downstream purification.

Gibco® CD BHK-21 Production Medium is manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility located in Grand Island, New York. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to ISO 13485 standards.

Medium 200 Gibco™

Medium 200 and phenol red-free Medium 200 (Medium 200PRF) are sterile, liquid tissue culture media intended for use as one component in a complete culture environment for normal human large vessel endothelial cells. When supplemented with LSGS or LSGS Kit, these media will support the plating and proliferation of endothelial cells at culture densities between 2.5 x 103 cells/cm2 and 1 x 105 cells/cm2. Additional applications may include primary isolation of endothelial cells.

Both Medium 200 and Medium 200PRF are basal culture media containing essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, other organic compounds, trace minerals, and inorganic salts. These media do not contain antibiotics, antimycotics, hormones, growth factors, or proteins. These media are HEPES and bicarbonate buffered and designed for use in an incubator with an atmosphere of 5% CO2/95% air. To support the plating and proliferation of human large vessel endothelial cells, these media must be supplemented with Low Serum Growth Supplement (LSGS) or Low Serum Growth Supplement Kit.

LHC-9 Medium (1X) Gibco™

LHC serum-free media are the most widely used products for culture of bronchial epithelial cells. For maximum flexibility and convenience, we offer these products with or without supplementation.

VP-SFM AGT™ Medium Gibco™

VP-SFM AGT™ is a serum free, ultra low protein medium (5 µg/ml) in a new easy-to-use granular format. VP-SFM AGT™ is designed for the growth of VERO cells for virus production. It is also suitable for the growth of COS-7, MDCK, BHK-21 and Hep2 cells and for recombinant protein production.

EpiLife™ CF Kit Gibco™

A sterile, liquid medium prepared without calcium chloride for the long-term, serum-free culture of human epidermal keratinocytes and human corneal epithelial cells. This basal medium requires the addition of calcium plus an appropriate supplement prior to use. Calcium chloride is provided as a separate component with each bottle of medium. EpiLife greatly extends the in vitro lifespan of human epidermal keratinocytes compared to other serum-free media systems. This basal media is animal origin free and contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, other organic compounds, trace minerals, and inorganic salts. It does not contain antibiotics, antimycotics, hormones, growth factors, or proteins. EpiLife® medium is HEPES and bicarbonate buffered, and is designed for use in an incubator with an atmosphere of 5% CO2 and 95% air.

Medium 200PRF Gibco™

A sterile, liquid medium for the culture of human large vessel endothelial cells. Medium 200PRF is Medium 200 prepared without phenol red. This basal medium requires the addition of LSGS (S-003-10) or LSGS Kit (S-003-K) prior to use.

293 SFM II Gibco™

293 SFM II is a serum-free, low-protein (<10 µg/ml) formulation optimized for high-density suspension culture of 293 cells (1). (It is not suitable for adherent 293 cell cultures.) This product replaces 293 SFM (Cat. No. 10970-010). 293 SFM II is animal-origin free. Formulated without L-glutamine for increased stability; add 20 ml of 200 mM L-glutamine or 20 ml of GlutaMAX™-I Supplement per 1,000 ml of medium prior to use.

CTS™ Opti-MEM™ I Medium Gibco™

Gibco CTS Opti-MEM I Medium is an improved minimal essential medium (MEM) that is recommended for use with the CTS LV-MAX Transfection Kit as a complexation buffer. This medium contains insulin, transferrin, hypoxanthine, thymidine, and trace elements. CTS Opti-MEM I uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (2.4 g/L), and therefore requires a 5–10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH. The formulation of CTS Opti-MEM I is identical to research-grade Opti-MEM I Reduced Serum Medium.

CTS Opti-MEM I is xeno-free and contains human transferrin.

CTS Opti-MEM I is manufactured in conformity with cGMP for medical devices, 21 CFR, Part 820, and certified to the ISO 13485. Drug Master File and Regulatory Support File available upon request.

CTS™ Neurobasal™-A Medium Gibco™

CTS Neurobasal-A Medium is designed with the translational stem cell researcher in mind. It can be used for long-term maintenance and maturation of pure post-natal and adult brain neurons without the need for an astrocyte feeder layer when used with CTS B-27 supplements.

Gibco® Collagenase Type IV is isolated from Clostridium histolyticum and packaged as a lyophilized, non-sterile powder for research use in cell or tissue dissociation and organ perfusions. Gibco® Collagenase Type IV activity is guaranteed to be greater than 160 units/mg. Compared to other collagenase preparations, Gibco® Collagenase Type IV has low tryptic activity and is well-suited for the digestion of islet cells from the pancreas.

Expi293F™ Inducible Cells Gibco™

The Expi293F Inducible cell line is derived from engineered Expi293F cells that stably express the tetracycline repressor (TetR) protein, thus enabling tetracycline-regulated protein expression. The cell line was established by the stable integration of the regulatory plasmid pcDNA6/TR, which encodes the TetR gene under the control of the human CMV promoter. It is a powerful tool for tetracycline-inducible high-yield expression of recombinant proteins.

Features of Expi293 Inducible cells include:
• Suspension, high-density culture in Expi293 Expression Medium
• Tetracycline-inducible protein expression with extremely low basal expression levels
• Equivalent protein yields to parental Expi293F cells—up to 1 g/L
• Significantly higher protein yields than other HEK293 Tet-inducible cell line alternatives

For inducible expression of your protein of interest, pcDNA5/TO mammalian expression vector (Cat. No. V103320) or an equivalent inducible vector is required for tetracycline-regulated gene expression.

Frozen cells are supplied in a vial containing 1 mL of cells at 1 x 107 viable cells/mL in Expi293 Expression Medium and 10% DMSO. The cells should be thawed directly into Expi293 Expression Medium.

DMEM/F-12, no glutamine Gibco™

Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium:Nutrient Mixture F-12 (DMEM/F-12) is a widely used basal medium for supporting the growth of many different mammalian cells. Cells successfully cultured in DMEM/F-12 include MDCK, glial cells, fibroblasts, human endothelial cells, and rat fibroblasts. Gibco® DMEM/F-12 is a 1:1 mixture of DMEM and Ham's F-12. This formulation combines DMEM's high concentrations of glucose, amino acids and vitamins with F-12's wide variety of components.

cGMP Manufacturing and Quality System
Gibco® DMEM/F-12 is manufactured at a cGMP compliant facility, located in Paisley, Scotland, UK. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.

DMEM/F-12 contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, DMEM/F-12 may require supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). DMEM/F-12 uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system and therefore requires a 5-10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH.
