Phalloidin is a bicyclic peptide belonging to a family of toxins isolated from the deadly Amanita phalloides 'death cap' mushroom and is commonly used in imaging applications to selectively label F-actin. Demonstrating very little nonspecific staining, Biotin-XX phalloidin allows high-contrast discrimination of actin staining.

Use in Multiple Applications
Biotin-XX phalloidin can be used to visualize and quantitate F-actin in tissue sections, cell cultures, or cell-free preparations. Biotin-XX phalloidin staining is fully compatible with other fluorescent stains used in cellular analyses including fluorescent proteins, Qdot® nanocrystals, and Alexa Fluor® conjugates including secondary antibodies.

CellVue™ Maroon Cell Labeling Kit Invitrogen™

CellVue™ dyes are lipophilic dyes that can be used to label the cell membrane for the purpose of identifying and tracking labeled cells. Cell labeling is rapid and stable and can be combined with fluorescently labeled antibodies and other markers of cellular function for flow cytometric analysis and fluorescent microscopy. The Mini CellVue™ Kits are supplied with one vial of dye stock (1 mM in ethanol) and one vial of labeling vehicle (Diluent C).

CellVue™ Maroon is a far-red fluorescent cell labeling reagent. It is optimally excited at 647 nm and has a peak emission of 667 nm; however, it can be detected equally in filter sets designed for APC, Alexa Fluor™ 700, and APC-eFluor™ 780 or similar fluorochromes. Therefore, using antibodies conjugated to these fluorochromes in combination with using CellVue™ Maroon is not recommended.

eBioscience™ Cell Proliferation Dye eFluor™ 450 Invitrogen™

Cell Proliferation Dye eFluor™ 450 is a violet fluorescent dye that can be used to monitor individual cell divisions. This fluorescent dye binds to any cellular proteins containing primary amines, and as cells divide, the dye is distributed equally between daughter cells that can be measured as successive halving of the fluorescence intensity of the dye. Up to 7 generations may be visualized. Cells labeled with Cell Proliferation Dye eFluor™ 450 may be fixed and permeabilized for analysis of intracellular targets using standard formaldehyde-containing fixatives and saponin-based permeabilization buffers, such as the Foxp3 Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (cat. 00-5523) or the IC Fixation Buffer (cat. 00-8222) and Permeabilization Buffer (10X) (cat. 00-8333).

Cell Proliferation Dye eFluor™ 450 has a peak excitation of 409 nm and can be detected using a 450/50 band pass filter (equivalent to eFluor™ 450 or Pacific Blue™), making it compatible with applications that utilize GFP.

Cell Proliferation Dye eFluor™ 450 is supplied as a lyophilized powder. Each vial may be reconstituted to a stock concentration of 10 mM with 165 µL of anhydrous DMSO; once reconstituted it should be used within 6 months and protected from light and stored at -20°C with dessicant. Avoid freeze-thawing.
