Thulium ( Tm)

The least abundant of the rare earth elements, thulium ([Xe]5f136s2) (CAS 7440-30-4) occurs in small quantities along with other rare earths in many minerals. It is silvery-gray, soft, malleable, ductile, and can be cut with a knife. The pure metal is bright and lustrous and reasonably stable in air.
