phiX174 DNA/BsuRI (HaeIII) Marker (Thermo Scientific™)

Thermo Scientific phiX174 DNA is digested to completion with the appropriate Thermo Scientific restriction enzyme, then purified and dissolved in storage buffer. The DNA fragments contain blunt or sticky ends, depending on the restriction enzyme used for the markers preparation.

Thermo Scientific phiX174 DNA/BsuRI (HaeIII) Marker can be labeled radioactively with T4 Polynucleotide Kinase. Alternatively it can be labeled radioactively or non-radioactively with Klenow fragment or Klenow Fragment, exo- with the fill-in reaction, see protocols in Resources.

GeneScan™ 1000 ROX™ dye Size Standard (Applied Biosystems™)

GeneScan™ 1000 ROX™ Size Standard is an internal lane size standard developed for use with Applied Biosystems® fluorescence-based DNA electrophoresis systems. The use of an internal lane size standard during electrophoresis enables automated data analysis and precise DNA fragment size comparisons between electrophoresis runs. GeneScan™ 1000 ROX™ Size Standard is designed for sizing DNA fragments in the 47–946 bp range and provides labeled fragments of 47, 51, 55, 82, 85 93 99, 126, 136, 262, 293, 317, 439, 557, 692, 695 and 946 bases. Each of the DNA fragments is labeled with ROX™ fluorophore, which results in a single peak when run under non-denaturing conditions.

Note: Under denaturing conditions using POP-4® polymer, fragment lengths between 100 and 539 bp can be determined (the linear range of the separation with respect to length vs. scan number).

Note
The cohesive ends (the 12 nt cos site of lambda DNA) of fragments indicated may anneal and form additional bands. These fragments can be separated by heating at 65°C for 5 minutes and then cooling on ice for 3 minutes.

GeneScan™ 500 LIZ® Size Standard is designed for sizing DNA fragments in the 35-500 nucleotides range and provides 16 single-stranded labeled fragment of: 35, 50, 75, 100, 139, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 340, 350, 400, 450, 490 and 500 nucleotides. The sizing curve generated from these fragments make the GeneScan™ 500 LIZ® Size Standard ideal for a variety of fragment analysis applications such as Microsatellites, Fragment Length Polymorphisms and Relative Fluorescent Quantitation. Each of the DNA fragments is labeled with the LIZ® fluorophore which results in a single peak when run under denaturing conditions.
