Dynabeads™ anti-E. coli O157 (Applied Biosystems™)

Dynabeads® E. coli anti-O157 is a tool for better sample preparation and improved cell culture and immuno-based assays for E. coli O157:H7 in food, feces, water and other environmental samples. Based on well-known and widely used immunomagnetic separation (IMS) technology, Dynabeads® E. coli anti-O157 provides a useful means to selectively capture E. coli O157:H7 and better prepare samples for effective analysis.

With Dynabeads® anti-E. coli O157, you will:

• Isolate and concentrate E. coli O157:H7 from samples in as little as 24 hours
• Improve detection sensitivity in cell culture and immunoassays of samples
• Perform either manual or automated (using the BeadRetriever™ System) separations

Dynabeads™ MAX EPEC/VTEC O121 Kit (Applied Biosystems™)

The Dynabeads® MAX EPEC/VTEC O121 Kit allows for the rapid, selective concentration of E. coli O121 serogroup bacteria in food and environmental samples to improve downstream detection via PCR or culture methods.

• Improve detection sensitivity in PCR sample analysis
• Reduce background in selective agar detection
• Perform the method manually or automate using the BeadRetriever™ System

Improve Sensitivity and Reduce Background
Highly specific antibodies attached to paramagnetic beads are incubated with an aliquot of pre-enriched sample. The beads bind and concentrate the target bacteria from non-target organisms. Washing steps help limit the carryover of inhibitors and matrix-associated particulates. These steps combine to improve the sensitivity of PCR-based detection while reducing background for plating methods.

Manual or Automated Processing
The immunomagnetic separation (IMS) steps can be performed manually with magnets and mixers or automated using the BeadRetriever™ System.

Sensitivity
Following the Dynabeads® MAX EPEC/VTEC O121 protocol, the presence or absence of one viable E. coli O121 can be determined in the sample sizes described if this one E. coli cell is able to replicate and is not masked by resident background flora.

NOTE: Lot 1375851 of this product contains only 1 vial of paramagnetic beads (1 mL each) sufficient for 100 reactions. This batch follows a slightly modified protocol (see use instructions in document part number MAN0007304 Revision 1.0).

Dynabeads™ EPEC/VTEC O145 (Applied Biosystems™)

For the rapid selective concentration of E.coli O145. Method can be performed manually or can be automated by using a BeadRetriever™.

Dynabeads™ MPC™-S (Magnetic Particle Concentrator) (Applied Biosystems™)

Our Magnetic Particle Concentrators (MPC®) enable optimal binding of Dynabeads® magnetic beads with their targets (e.g., cells, proteins, and nucleic acids) in a variety of starting samples. The MPC®-S was designed specifically for microbiology applications; it has been validated with select Dynabeads® for enrichment of E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, non-O157 STEC, Cryptosporidium, and Giardia. The MPC®-S can be used with both food enrichment samples types as well as water samples. It holds up to six microcentrifuge tubes and has an optimal working volume range of 20 µl–2 ml.

Note that this magnet is for microbiology applications only, not for eukaryotic cell separations. For use in food and environmental testing only. Not for any animal or human therapeutic or diagnostic use.

Dynabeads™ MX4 Mixer (Applied Biosystems™)

The Dynabeads® MX4 Mixer combines Dynabeads® MX Mixer Base (Cat. No. 159-02) and MPC®-S Mixing Head (Cat. No. 159-11). Designed to hold two MPC®-S sample racks (Cat. No. A13346); capacity up to 12 microcentrifuge tubes.

Dynabeads® MX mixers provide continuous gentle motion to obtain optimal binding of Dynabeads® with targets (e.g., cells, proteins, nucleic acids). Variable speed (5-40 rpm). Can be operated in both cold and warm conditions (4-37°C). Inter-changeable heads accommodate different tube sizes and sample volumes.

BeadRetriever™ Tube Rack (Applied Biosystems™)

Tube-sample rack, designed of use with the BeadRetriever™ System (Cat. No 159-50). The Tube Rack contains fifteen separate sample tube slots. Tubes for sample processing on the BeadRetriever™ System available separately (Cat. No. 159-51).

Dynabeads™ MX2 Mixer (Applied Biosystems™)

The Dynabeads® MX2 Mixer combines Dynabeads® MX Mixer Base (Cat. No. 159-02), Mixer Turret (Cat. No. 159-06), and 8-tube Mixing Wheel (Cat. No. 159-04). Designed for sample tubes ranging from 15 to 27 mm in diameter.

Dynabeads® MX mixers provide continuous gentle motion to obtain optimal binding of Dynabeads® with targets (e.g., cells, proteins, nucleic acids). Variable speed (5-40 rpm). Can be operated in both cold and warm conditions (4-37°C). Inter-changeable heads accommodate different tube sizes and sample volumes.

Dynabeads™ Spot-On™ Slides (Applied Biosystems™)

Treated, single 9 mm well, glass slides for microscopic analysis of oocysts and cysts. This product is used in combination with the Dynabeads® anti-Cryptosporidium and GC-Combo kits.

Dynabeads™ MX Mixer Turret (Applied Biosystems™)

Attachment for Dynabeads® MX Mixer Base (Cat. No. 159-02). Designed to connect the Mixer Base with the 12-tube Mixing Head (Cat. No. 159-03) or 8-tube Mixing Head (Cat. No. 159-04).

Dynabeads™ Rotary Mixer Mixing Platform (Applied Biosystems™)

When attached to the Dynabeads® Rotary Mixer (Cat. No. 947-01), the Mixing Platform can hold Dynabeads in 3 MPC®-S racks or one 96-well microcentrifuge tube holder provided with the Mixing Platform. Variable speed (15-80 rpm). Can be operated in both cold and warm conditions (4-37°C).

Based on magnetic separation technology, the BeadRetriever™ System enables rapid purification and concentration of selected targets from a broad range of samples.
