What technologies are included in the Gemini Raman and FTIR Chemical Analyzer with LowDoseID for chemical and explosives identification? Product FAQ

Answer

The Gemini Raman and FTIR Chemical Analyzer with LowDoseID enables operators to quickly switch between Raman and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic analysis techniques. Raman and FTIR spectroscopy are highly specific and reliable identification methods, each with strengths and limitations. By integrating both into a single handheld analyzer, operators harness the power of each technology while enabling a broader range of chemical identification.

Are the Nunc 96 Deep Well Filter Plates chemically resistant? Product FAQ

Answer

Yes. The polypropylene plate material naturally resists chemicals and organic solvents, as does the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) frit and glass fiber filter. For very strong chemicals, prolonged exposure times, and/or higher temperatures, we recommend that you test the plates with the chemical or solution in question.

I accidentally ordered electrocompetent cells instead of chemically competent cells, but I don't have an electroporation apparatus. May I use the electrocompetent cells as chemically competent ones to do the heat shock transformation? Product FAQ

Answer

No, unfortunately not. Electrocompetent cells are not chemically treated. Unlike chemically competent cells, electrocompetent cells have an intact cell membrane.
