This EGFR (ErbB1) G719C recombinant human protein (672–end) was expressed in insect cells. EGFR receptor tyrosine kinase is a transmembrane glycoprotein. Binding of epidermal growth factor to EGFR induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation, differentiation, motility, and cell survival. Activation of EGFR triggers mitogenic signaling in gastrointestinal mucosa, and its expression is upregulated in colon cancers and most neoplasms. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), recombinant human protein is supplied as a lyophilized powder. It is suitable for use in protein studies such as protein structure analysis and protein-protein interactions. In general, recombinant proteins can also be used as an immunogen, as a protein standard, or in cell biology research applications.

Since this product is a truncated protein and does not contain intracellular catalytic activity domain, it is not suitable for use in enzyme activity studies.

This recombinant protein was expressed from a DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain (Met 1-Lys 642) of human EGFR (NP_005219) fused to a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

Activity: Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human EGF at 10 µg/ml can bind human EGFR with a linear range of 3.2-400 ng/ml.

Formulation: Lyophilized in 20 mM Tris, pH7.4, 50 mM NaCl, 3 mM DTT, 0.5 mM TCEP, 5% Mannitol, 5% Trehalose, 0.02% Tween-80.

Reconstitution: Dissolve the protein in sterile double distilled water to a concentration of 0.2 mg/ml or lower. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted and be used as soon as possible. Store aliquots under sterile conditions at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Expiration Date: Expires one year from date of receipt when stored as instructed.
