FGF-Basic (AA 1-155) Recombinant Human Protein (Gibco™)

FGF-Basic (AA 1-155) is a bioactive protein intended for use in cell culture applications. Fibroblast growth factor-basic is known as FGF-basic, bFGF, FGF 2, FGF-β, and heparin binding growth factor. FGF-basic is involved in a number of biological processes, including embryonic development and differentiation, neuron differentiation, survival, regeneration, and the proliferation of cells of mesodermal origin and many cells of neuroectodermal, ectodermal, and endodermal origin. High biological activity
In-house activity testing of recombinant proteins includes cell proliferation, cytotoxicity, chemotaxis, calcium flux, secondary cytokine up-regulation, induction of surface antigen expression, antiviral, and protease assays. Recombinant human FGF-basic specific activity is determined by the dose dependent proliferation of BALB/3T3 cells.

FGF-Basic Full Length CTS™ Recombinant Human Protein (Gibco™)

Cell Therapy Systems CTS™ Recombinant Human FGF-basic (full length) is a bioactive protein intended for use in cell culture applications, including pre-clinical and clinical cell therapy studies. FGF-basic (FGFb), is involved in a number of biological processes including embryonic development and differentiation, and neuron differentiation, survival, and regeneration. FGFb is also involved in the proliferation of cells of mesodermal origin and many cells of neuroectodermal, ectodermal, and endodermal origin. The lyophilized, E. coli-expressed FGF-basic (full length) CTS™ Recombinant Human is verified for activity through dose-dependent proliferation of BALB/3T3 cells.

The purity of each GIBCO® CTS™ recombinant growth factor is verified by SDS-PAGE to be over 95% pure and to have endotoxin levels below 0.1 ng/μg.

High Biological Activity
All GIBCO® CTS™ Recombinant growth factors are verified for activity. Each lot has its own ED50 determined using an activity assay based on a specific function of the growth factor. The activity of our FGF-basic (full length) CTS™ Recombinant Human growth factor is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of BALB/3T3 cells to have an ED50 range of 0.1–1.0 ng/mL (specific activity: 1.0 × 107–1.0 × 106 units/mg). Optimal concentration for individual applications should be determined by a dose response assay.
