PrepFiler™ 96-Well Spin Plates and Filter Plates, ethylene oxide-treated (Applied Biosystems™)

PrepFiler® 96-Well Spin Plates and Filter Plates are intended for use with the updated PrepFiler® Automated Forensic DNA Extraction Kit, which does not include plastic consumables, providing users the flexibility to order only the plastics consumables they need. PrepFiler® Forensic DNA Extraction kits use magnetic particles with an optimized multi-component surface chemistry to deliver superior DNA yield from most forensic sample types, including body fluids, and stains and swabs of body fluids. The PrepFiler® Spin Plates and Filter Plates are used for sample lysis and substrate removal for sample processing in 96-well plate format. The packaged plates are treated with ethylene oxide.

PrepFiler™ Spin Tubes and Filter Columns, ethylene oxide-treated (Applied Biosystems™)

PrepFiler Spin Tubes and Filter Columns are available here as a separate purchase, providing ordering flexibility and allowing researchers to select only the plastic consumables needed for use with all PrepFiler forensic DNA extraction kits. These kits use magnetic particles with an optimized multi-component surface chemistry to deliver superior DNA yield from most forensic sample types, including body fluids, stains, and swabs of body fluids.

PrepFiler Filter Columns are used for substrate removal, and PrepFiler Spin Tubes are used for sample processing in tube format. The packaged Spin Tubes and Filter Columns are treated with ethylene oxide.

PrepFiler forensic DNA extraction kits contain other components required for DNA recovery from both routine and challenging samples, including removal of PCR inhibitors.

Polypropylene Columns (Empty) (Invitrogen™)

These empty, 10-mL polypropylene columns are for use with the ProBond™ Purification System and hold ProBond™ resin.

Centri-Sep™ 96-Well Plates (Applied Biosystems™)

Centri-Sep™ 96's hydrated matrix enables effective and reliable high-throughput removal of excess BigDye® terminators from DNA sequencing reactions, giving you clean sequencing reads with uniform signal intensity starting with the first base. The plate's 96-well format enables you to purify 96 samples simultaneously, either manually or by robotics, within 15 minutes.

Designed for Performance
The column design is based on the description of gel filtration for the purification of DNA from nick translation reactions by Sambrook, et.al. Each Centri-Sep unit consists of a specially fritted microfuge tube, dry gel, a wash tube and a sample collection tube, all specifically designed for this purpose.

Excellent Recovery
The Centri-Sep™ gel will provide excellent recovery of DNA fragments with sizes greater than 16 base pairs or 25-mer, while removing 98% of salts, NTP's and other unwanted low molecular-weight impurities.

Versatile
The column gel is hydrated with either reagent-grade water or a suitable buffer or your choice, and spun in a microcentrifuge or swinging-bucket centrifuge to remove the intersititial fluid. Your sample is then applied to the column and spun again, leaving you not only with a sample purified through removal of low-molecular-weight components, but also exchanged into the buffer of your choice.

Thermo Scientific Pierce Micro-Spin Columns are convenient tools for manipulating small volumes of affinity supports (5 to 100 µL) for protein purification.

PrepFiler™ LySep™ Columns (Applied Biosystems™)

PrepFiler® LySep™ Columns are intended for use with the PrepFiler® Forensic DNA Extraction kits and allow users to easily perform lysis and substrate removal in a single tube assembly. There is no transfer of the substrate to another tube for removal, thus minimizing hands-on time and helping to reduce the risk of cross contamination and sample transposition events. The only analyst interaction and handling of the substrate occurs during the addition of the substrate to the PrepFiler LySep™ Column for lysis.

The innovative PrepFiler® LySep™ Column dramatically streamlines the off-line lysis portion of the extraction method. PrepFiler® Lysis Buffer or PrepFiler® BTA™ Lysis buffer is added directly to the PrepFiler® LySep™ Column along with the sample for incubation. Next, the PrepFiler® LySep™ Column is briefly centrifuged, causing the lysate to flow through the burstable membrane while the substrate remains behind in the column. The sample tube is then ready to be placed on the AutoMate Express™ instrument. This eliminates the manual lysate and substrate transfer steps, helping save time and minimizing cross contamination and sample transposition events.

NucAway™ Spin Columns (Invitrogen™)

The microcentrifuge spin columns included with the FastTrack® 2.0 and Micro-FastTrack™ 2.0 Kits are available separately. The columns are made from polypropylene and are designed to enhance the speed and efficiency of polyA+ RNA isolation. The columns are sterilized and RNase-free.

Pierce™ Centrifuge Columns, 5 mL (Thermo Scientific™)

Thermo Scientific Pierce Centrifuge Columns are convenient tools for handling 40 µL to 10 mL of an affinity support for purification.

Column details:

• Made from low protein binding polypropylene for compatibility with protein purification
• Total volume: 8 mL (5 mL resin bed, 3 mL reservoir)
• Resin volume: 5 mL
• Filter type, pore size: Polyethylene filter, ~30 µm pore size
• Receiver tube: Fits standard 15 mL conical centrifuge tubes

• Twist-off bottom and press-on cap to reseal

Simply add the affinity resin to one of the polypropylene columns, remove the twist-off bottom and allow the resin to pack itself. Then add your sample and allow it to bind to the support and use a centrifuge to efficiently wash away any contaminants and elute your purified protein. Pierce Centrifuge Columns can be used in either spin or gravity-flow format. The spin format reduces sample processing time and makes column washing and elution more efficient. For gravity-flow procedures and when slow processing time is desired for binding steps with dilute samples, Column Extenders can be used to increase the column reservoir capacity. Use the any combination of processing techniques to get the best possible chromatography results.
