Do I need to use a cuvette when using µDrop and µDrop Duo Plates?

µDrop and µDrop Duo Plates (Cat. No. N12391, N12391M2) are designed for low-volume (2 to 10 µL) photometric concentration measurements of DNA, RNA, protein, or spectral scanning and can be used without a cuvette. The plates feature a low volume area that allows for direct sample application, eliminating the need for a traditional cuvette. This design facilitates quick and efficient sample preparation and measurement, making the process more streamlined.

What is the blanking process for µDrop and µDrop Duo Plates?

The blanking process for µDrop and µDrop Duo Plates (Cat. No. N12391, N12391M2) involves using a designated well under the cuvette for blanking purposes. Specifically, the blank sample is added to the G11 well of the first plate in the layout. This blank sample is used to calibrate the measurements and help ensure accuracy by accounting for any background noise or interference. Each measurement should contain a blank subtraction and we recommend including at least one blank sample in each measurement to maintain the integrity of the results. There are different ways to perform the blank subtraction:

- Blanks on the same µDrop or µDrop Duo Plate
- Sample-specific blanks
- Previously made blanks
