Chemical, Physical, and Structural Analysis

Seminar
Aug 21, 2018 - Oct 19, 2018
Workshops and seminars for developing and understanding materials

Accurate and reproducible data from meaningful measurements and analyses requires basic understanding as well as application know-how. Let Thermo Scientific instrument and software systems prove how easy it is to generate reliable answers for your research or work environment.

Our workshops will refresh or enhance your molecular spectroscopy, surface analysis, material characterization or elemental and structural analysis knowledge. You will be able to better analyze and optimize your products and workflows, which are the foundation for developing innovative applications.

Have a look at our upcoming workshops that are close to you. We look forward to seeing you at one of our events!

Agendas vary by location and not all topics will be covered in each workshop. Meeting topics will include:

  • Latest developments in our leading portfolio
  • Challenges with existing and emerging applications
  • User presentations
  • Hints and tips on software and hardware optimization

Aug 21, 2018 - Aug 21, 2018
Thermo Fisher Scientific | San Jose Applications Lab | 355 River Oaks Parkway, San Jose, CA
Workshop: TGA-IR

This workshop will introduce the power of the combined analytical technique where FTIR is used to study the evolved gases coming from a TGA experiment.  FTIR provides chemical information that compliments the mass-reduction information provided by TGA.  Together, they provide a complete picture of the nature of the materials being studied.  We will review the benefits of FTIR and TGA separately, discuss the capabilities of the combined TGA-IR system and then demonstrate the technique using working instruments from Thermo Fisher Scientific and TA Instruments.

9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Lunch is included
