*No purchase necessary to enter or win. To participate in the Innovation Day Contest (the “Contest”), you must submit the submission form (the “Submission Form”) available at thermofisher.com/innovationday no later than September 25, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. US Pacific Time. The Contest is open only to persons 18 years and older in the US (excluding Puerto Rico) who submit a completed Submission Form. Health Care Professionals (term defined in the complete Terms and Conditions) may not participate in this promotion. All entries must be in the English language. There is a limit of five entries per participant and it is possible for a participant to win more than one prize. Other eligibility restrictions may apply. Sponsor will select three winners from all qualifying entries, and a popular vote will determine a “People’s Choice” winner. The first place winner will receive a cash prize of $10,000, the second place winner will receive $3,000 in Thermo Fisher Scientific product credit, and the third place winner and the “People’s Choice” winner will each receive $1,000 in Thermo Fisher Scientific product credit. The winner is responsible for any taxes due on their prize. A panel consisting of four qualified judges from Thermo Fisher Scientific with a mix of business, technical, marketing, and intellectual property backgrounds, will select up to 24 semifinalists based upon the following criteria:
The semifinalists will be notified by approximately September 26, 2016, and each semifinalist (or their proxy) will be asked to make a live, in-person presentation of their idea before a panel of judges at Biocom, 10996 Torreyana Road, San Diego, California 92121 on the morning of October 12, 2016 (the “Event”). Ten Thermo Fisher Scientific judges, together with a representative from both Biocom and Connect, will then select up to 6 finalists who will be asked to present their idea before the panel of judges and the general public at the Event during the afternoon of October 12. Three winners will be selected by the panel and one “People’s Choice” winner will be determined by popular vote by audience members. Contingent upon certain conditions being met, the winners will be provided with their prize. Presenters must attend the Event in order to be eligible to win a prize, and presenters will be responsible for their own accommodations and travel to the Event; no travel assistance or accommodations will be provided.
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest if a minimum of 40 qualified submissions are not received by the Sponsor by the submission deadline.
The participants must certify that they are not prohibited by employment, contract, or law from entering this Contest or accepting a prize from the Sponsor. The institution or company that employs a potential winner must confirm that the potential winner is permitted to accept the prize from the Sponsor before the winner can be selected. If a potential winner is unable to accept a prize, other finalists will move up a place, and an alternate potential winner(s) will be selected until the prizes can be awarded. The complete Terms and Conditions are available here. In case of any inconsistency between these short rules and the complete Terms and Conditions, the complete Terms and Conditions will always prevail. Offer void where prohibited, licensed, or restricted by federal, state, provincial, or local laws, regulations, or agency/institutional policies. Other restrictions may apply.
