Valuing the diversity of our employees, and all whom we do business with—regardless of race, color, creed, religion, age, gender, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, or other legally protected status—is an integral element of our corporate culture. And we are committed to ensuring that we embed this inclusive culture in all our business practices.

One way we accomplish this is through actively working to build and maintain relationships with well-qualified small, veteran, minority, and women-owned businesses.

We invest in the resources, policies, and tools needed to make this vision a reality. We strongly encourage all firms, regardless of size or ownership, to share with us their ideas of how we can work and grow together.

By continually increasing the diversity of our world-class supply chain, we benefit by obtaining the value of the innovative solutions and the fresh business perspective such firms have to offer. They in essence become our partners in maintaining our position as a leader in our industry.

Value received is only part of the story. Just as important, by working to expand the field of opportunity, we help create the conditions that stimulate economic growth in the communities where we, our customers, and our employees live and do business. We know that when this happens, everyone wins.

"Our Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. To achieve their goals in today's environment, our customers need to be more innovative and more productive, and they turn to Thermo Fisher Scientific for help. Having a diverse supplier base is important to our customers, to us and to the communities in which we do business. Our support of supplier diversity demonstrates our commitment to being a good steward in our communities and to ensuring our customers' success."
–Marc Casper, President and Chief Executive Officer, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Doing business with us

We actively seek to maximize business opportunities for small business concerns, including disadvantaged businesses, women-owned enterprise, veteran owned businesses, disabled veteran owned firms and Hubzone business enterprises. It is one of the goals of our program to reach out to these businesses and provide progressive and responsible suppliers an equitable fair and equal opportunity to compete for business.

Register your company

If you would like to be considered as a potential future supplier, please register your company at our database provider, Diversity Information Resources (DIR). (Click on the Login and Registration button in the upper right hand corner.)

DIR, established in 1968, provides free registration for small and diverse-owned businesses. Their service is used by hundreds of large businesses to locate possible suppliers for bids. Your profile will be available to Thermo Fisher Scientific as well as the other companies using the service.

Our Supplier Diversity Program provides the following services to our communities:

  1. Identifies suppliers of goods and services for possible use
  2. Counsels suppliers on how to do business with us
  3. Provides purchasing personnel with information regarding possible sources of supply (directories and source lists)
