Expand your molecular research offerings with infectious disease panels
A flexible, scalable, and reliable solution for lab optimization utilizing real-time PCR instrumentation
With the unpredictable, rapidly changing nature of SAR-CoV-2, labs are expanding their test menus to accommodate a growing number of infectious disease areas and finding ways to improve the precision and accuracy in their research areas. Detection of common infectious diseases with traditional culture- or microscopy-based methods are antiquated and lack sensitivity and specificity. Real-time PCR (qPCR) is an innovative solution for detecting slow-growing, difficult-to-cultivate, or uncultivable microorganisms.
In order to effectively study outbreaks and determine disease etiology where pathogens are similar, analytically sensitive panels are needed to support laboratory research studies.
Applied Biosystems TrueMark Infectious Disease Research Panels are convenient, duplexed TaqMan assays that are performed on pre-spotted and dried-down plates that include microorganism‑specific pathogens, utilizing real‑time PCR techniques.
This enables rapid, accurate detection and categorization of microorganisms that cause respiratory, vaginal, urinary, gastrointestinal, and sexually transmitted diseases, as well as antibiotic resistance research.
TrueMark Infectious Disease Research Solutions are available in customizable options. Choose from an extensive list of pathogens to put on your plate, or ten different predefined panels in several disease states, with preselected assays targets.

Increased productivity, sensitivity, and specificity with qPCR technology
Implementing genetic analysis systems and solutions in the laboratory has been directly linked to improved efficiencies, cost savings, and faster time to reportable results.** qPCR can detect slow-growing, difficult-to-cultivate microorganisms, making it ideal for when culture methods are inadequate, ambiguous, time-consuming, difficult, or costly.

Additional benefits of TrueMark Panels
TrueMark Infectious Disease Research Panels are a collection of duplex assays designed to detect a pathogen of interest and an internal control in the same reaction. Customers have the option of predefined panels covering 8 pathogens per panel on 96-well plates or custom panel options on either 96-or 384-well plates.
Duplexed assays
- Allow for the simultaneous detection of target and control in the same well
- Help increase confidence in results
- Are designed to reduce the need to run replicates, helping to lower cost and minimize workflow complexity
Pre-spotted and dried down plates
- Target and RNAse P or Bacillus atrophaeus process control assays dried down in plate
- Designed to reduce hands on time and errors in the workflow
Amplification control
- One control covers all disease area targets, panels, and applications
- Makes it easier and faster for labs to implement
