Equivalent Quality Control (EQC) is expiring and Individualized Quality Control Plans (IQCP) are incoming. Labs that want to take advantage of alternative QC approaches need to develop their risk assessment skills. Westgard will describe the background behind the demise of EQC and the rationale of risk QC, as well as provide practical tools to speed laboratory implementation of the appropriate QC procedures. At the same time, optimized QC solutions will be discussed for current weaknesses in laboratory practices. Laboratories don’t have to embrace risk QC, but there are plenty of additional options to help them choose the right QC.
Who will benefit?
- Laboratory supervisors, managers, directors
- QA managers and QC coordinators
- Medical technologists
What you will learn
- Identify the different QC options available now and in the future
- Leverage existing operation data to assess performance and risk of current tests
- Optimize QC plans with data-driven Six Sigma techniques
