The Data Analytics Solution for Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS provides authorized users with a set of out-of-the-box dashboards, displaying key business and laboratory insights. Resource availability, stock information, location status and lab performance are displayed in a clear interactive format, with current status information and the ability to drill down for further detail and results. The profiling element of the Data Analytics solution determines the most impactful variables to optimize prediction accuracy. The system uses the results of previous tests applied to similar samples as inputs, creating a Machine Learning pipeline with predictive power.
In addition to the pre-configured dashboards in the Data Analytics Solution, any data stored in SampleManager LIMS can be displayed using graphs, charts or tables and collated together in dashboards to provide relevant information to key stakeholders. The powerful data visualization capabilities in SampleManager LIMS enable the user to configure dashboards and overviews, which can be made available to specific groups or users either on log in or on demand as needed.

The Profiling capability available for the Data Analytics Solution provides an innovative way to predict the result of a yet to be executed binary test using historical data and novel Machine Learning (ML) based techniques. Anticipating the result of a test without conducting it reduces the number of samples tested by identifying and eliminating the need to perform redundant tests. It saves the laboratory money by generating a prediction for eligible samples without any cost or time, which in turn prevents the unnecessary use of expensive reagents and consumables. Scientists can take actions based on the anticipated result of the test, including failing samples early in the process.
This capability provides a no-code, easy-to-use framework, enabling users to create various models based on different data, interpret the results, and create their own predictions. The models can be automated easily to learn continuously and make predictions on new samples without user interaction.
