Dr. Issaku Kohl | Product Manager | Thermo Fisher Scientific
I am a geologist and stable isotope geochemist by training. Scientifically, I am interested in the movement of elements between reservoirs within the solar system. My analytical specialty is high precision isotope ratio measurements of rare isotopologues utilizing gas and plasma source magnetic sector mass spectrometers. In recent years, high resolution mass spectrometry has become my passion; both magnetic sector and Orbitrap based platforms. Utilizing high resolution mass spectrometry to measure multiply substituted isotopologues adds additional dimensions to classical stable isotope approaches. These measurements provide previously unattainable insight into reaction pathways, kinetics, and conditions of molecular assembly, including temperature and are becoming increasingly necessary for understanding the transformation and movement of elements throughout the solar system.
