Peptide enrichment may facilitate the enhanced LC-MS/MS detection and quantitation of peptides that are signatures of their respective target proteins. Here, an overview of a peptide enrichment technique coupled with bottom-up LC-MS/MS will be discussed and sub/low-femtomole on column absolute quantitation of three peptides from the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein will be demonstrated.

Richard Gibson is an Applications Scientist for the Clinical Research Vertical Marketing team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, based out of San Jose, CA USA. Richard studied mathematics at the University of York and the University of St Andrews in the UK before transitioning to biochemistry. He completed his Ph.D on the biochemical and biophysical characterization of the quartromicin polyketide synthase at the University of Warwick, UK. He is currently focused on advancing LC-MS workflows for clinical research on a range of applications, including peptide quantitation.
