Choosing the right screening library could make or break a drug discovery program in its early phases. The ideal screening library is comprised of compounds that are structurally and functionally diverse and demonstrate suitable pharmacokinetic properties while excluding potentially problematic structures.
The Maybridge screening collection is widely acknowledged as a critical tool in screening campaigns, containing over 51,000 organic compounds manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific. These are individually designed compounds produced by innovative synthetic techniques, based on over 45 years of experience in heterocyclic chemistry.
Our screening libraries are designed to increase the odds of positive results while optimizing cost, time, and effort spent per project. Learn more about the Maybridge screening collection below.
Maybridge HTS libraries
Our HitFinder, HitCreator, and HitDiscover collections of pre-plated, individually designed screening compounds are produced by innovative synthetic techniques, based on over 45 years of experience in heterocyclic chemistry.
Our focused screening libraries have been shown to have substantially high hit rates, and include compounds designed for investigation of antivirals, antibacterials, protein-protein interaction, G-protein-coupled receptors, kinases, and ion channels. Other targeted libraries are available upon request.
Carefully selected chemical moieties are excluded from our database in order to reduce false positives, enabling a higher percentage of genuine leads for optimization and eliminating the time and money expended on following unsuitable hits.
Our highly diverse collection of screening compounds comprises structures with complex properties including high drug-likeness, conformity with Lipinski's Rule of 5, and good ADME profiles, making it more likely to provide successful results than less diverse libraries with less suitable chemical properties.
Availability and stock quantities
Supply formats
In order to facilitate screening, selected compounds are available in two pre-plated formats, with stock available for follow-up when required:
- 96-well plates with 1 μmol dry film
- 384-well microplates with 0.25 μmol dry film
- 96-well plates may be provided at mass ≥2 µmol or ≥0.5 mg as powder, dry films, or frozen DMSO solutions. 96- or 384-well plates may be provided at mass >0.1 µmol or >0.01 mg as dry films or frozen DMSO solutions. Compounds may also be ordered in vials at mass >2 µmol or 0.5 mg as powder or DMSO solutions.
Our Maybridge compounds team can provide most major brands of plates and vials, but we are happy to use those supplied by customers on request.
Accelerating drug discovery
The core of the Maybridge building block collection, these pharmacophorically rich intermediates are specifically designed for medicinal chemistry, allowing logical SAR development and hit-to-lead optimization. Many will be of particular interest as "privileged structures", while others bearing solubilizing moieties add to the pharmacokinetic profile of drug molecules.
