Watch the NanoDrop One Spectrophotometer in action
Our flagship NanoDrop One and OneC spectrophotometers share common features with other members of the NanoDrop family:
Pioneering pedestal technology
Simply pipet a drop of your DNA, RNA, or protein sample on the pedestal and pull down the arm; results appear in seconds
Advanced sample intelligence
By analyzing absorbance across the full spectrum, Acclaro Sample Intelligence software can identify contaminants and correct quantitation results before you use them in downstream applications
Rapid time to results
Results appear within seconds of initiating a measurement, and Auto-Blank and Auto-Measure settings can further streamline your workflow
Tiny sample sizes
Requires only 1–2 µL of sample without dilution, even for highly concentrated samples
Differentiates DNA from RNA
Acclaro software uses full-spectrum data to tease apart DNA from RNA and calculate corrected nucleic acid concentrations
Your dependable lab partner
Since their introduction in 2001, NanoDrop spectrophotometers have become indispensable in many labs, accumulating over 55,000 scientific citations

The user-friendly interface includes custom methods and data export capabilities. An integrated, onboard Learning Center maintains an archive of technical support documents and educational animations at your fingertips.
In addition to the onboard touchscreen interface, free NanoDrop One/OneC PC Control software allows user control of the instrument from an Ethernet-connected PC.
For regulated labs, optional Thermo Scientific Security Suite for NanoDrop One/OneC allows instrument use in a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant environment. This module helps to maintain the records required for user account access, audit trails, electronic signatures, automated data back-up, and more.
Onboard touchscreen interface. The ergonomic, standalone NanoDrop One/OneC instruments offer onboard control via a high-definition, glove-compatible touchscreen.
Thermo Scientific Acclaro Sample Intelligence Technology software (included with NanoDrop One/OneC and NanoDrop Eight spectrophotometers) analyzes absorbance across the whole UV-Vis spectrum, not just wavelengths specific to nucleic acids and proteins. It then applies powerful chemometric algorithms to find and correct for contamination in your samples. You get more reliable downstream assay results and avoid potential rework with this efficient, breakthrough capability.
Next-generation quality assessment using Acclaro software
Chemometric algorithms allow NanoDrop instruments to identify and correct for specific contaminants, taking quality assessment to the next level.
Acclaro Sample Intelligence software can even use full-spectrum data to tease apart DNA from copurified RNA and calculate corrected DNA concentrations.
Verify sample quality in seconds
Identify sample contaminants and obtain corrected concentration results
Identify contaminants that absorb in the analysis region
Determine absorbances from known contaminants like protein or phenol in dsDNA or RNA samples or nucleic acids or phenol in protein samples
Rely on accurate results
Help ensure measurement integrity with embedded sensor and digital image analysis
Access information through alerts
Receive instant feedback about sample quality with on-demand technical support and guided troubleshooting
Analyze the entire spectrum to expose other contaminants
Detect the presence of guanidine HCl and guanidinium isothiocyanate in nucleic acid samples, dsDNA in RNA, or RNA in dsDNA
Improve your laboratory’s productivity and expand your collaborations with connected laboratory instruments that accelerate your research. With 24/7 access to the Thermo Fisher Connect cloud-based platform using the free NanoDrop Cloud App, you can securely upload, store, view, and share your data anytime, anywhere, from any device.
Or, when you want to work at your desk, you can use NanoDrop One PC Control software to view and analyze your data or explore Acclaro support features on your PC. Then, when your results are ready, you can print directly or seamlessly transfer results to a PC or the Connect platform using a USB, *Wi-Fi, or Ethernet connection.

Although both models in the NanoDrop One family have the pioneering microvolume sample retention capability of our pedestal, the NanoDrop OneC instrument includes a built-in cuvette capability. The cuvette position adds experimental flexibility and increases the dynamic range. Combining the pioneering sample-retention system with cuvette capability accommodates both low and high concentrations (0.2–27,500 ng/µL dsDNA and 0.006–820 mg/mL BSA).
Use cuvettes to measure dilute samples and optical density of bacterial cultures or to perform kinetics experiments. The cuvette position can be used with the arm up or down and includes temperature control and stirring features.

"The compactness of the instrument most definitely stands out from everything else. Well, a lot of things stand out about it but the compactness is the best part for me because coming from a lab where we don't have that much space we want more of it…” | "…the auto measure makes sampling faster, easier…I try to figure out the fastest way to read samples when I'm short on time. So I'll get one sample ready while one sample's reading. So I can just set it up, I don’t have to click a button to set GO, I just put it (the pedestal arm) back down and my next sample is ready. | "I tend to forget what the (purity) ratio should be. I have a rough idea of what the ratio with protein contamination should be...and this is very helpful to have that extra feature (educational animations) that will correct the concentration for you so what you think your DNA concentration is, is what (the) actual DNA concentration is. That's gonna save a lot of time.” |
