Other Fluorescent Secondary Antibodies
Traditional fluorescent dyes like fluorescein, tetramethylrhodamine, Rhodamine Red™, Cy®3, Cy®5, and Texas Red®, now have Alexa Fluor® alternatives, which provide better brightness and photostability. However, depending on your needs, these traditional dyes can still be quite useful in many applications. Additionally, there may be applications where these dyes are especially useful, such as taking advantage of the high rate of photobleaching or pH sensitivity of fluorescein, or when trying to replicate historic experiments. How to find a secondary antibody
Step 1: Search for the target species of interest (e.g., “anti-mouse” or “goat anti-rabbit” or “alexa fluor 488”).
Step 2: Narrow results by host species, conjugate, application, and other criteria using side filters.
