We have developed sophisticated tools and solutions that can help biotech and pharmaceutical companies during the upstream process development, from cell line through scale up.

Some examples of our tools and solutions include:

ClonePix Technology

ClonePix Technology allows for rapid screening through thousands of clones in a few hours. It can help reduce timeline and improve clone selection dramatically. The ClonePix 2 instrument can automatically image, select, and pick mammalian cell colonies based upon a number of parameters such as size, roundness, and proximity to neighbors, or far more specific information such as quantitative protein secretion or specific protein production. The technology can be used for the selective cell screening of client generated polyclonal or clonal cell pools of a wide range of cell types, or as part of our cell line development services.

Key benefits:

  • Helps reduce timeline and efforts in clone selection process by eliminating dilution method
  • Helps avoid costly procedure that is prone to cross contamination of cells and user error
  • Helps reduce contamination risks due to manual methods
  • Helps increase accuracy in clone selection
  • Offers higher chance of obtaining monoclonality

Technology details and workflow:

  • Disperse cells into semi-solid matrix
  • Allow cells to grow into colonies
  • Capture secreted protein of interest with a fluorescently tagged antibody
  • Image, analyze, and pick

ambr technology
ambr-230x195

Gibco PD-Express Services leverages the ambr 15 system to help reduce development timeline and costs for various applications including clone selection, integrated medium and feed development, and process improvements. The automated system uses disposable micro bioreactors, which model traditional stirred tank bioreactors, enabling the evaluation of significantly more experimental conditions.
