QuantiGene RNA assays

Multiple technologies exist to characterize gene expression to help researchers understand cellular processes, diseases, and their underlying mechanisms. From the gold standard PCR to discovery tools such as NGS, complementary expression technologies fulfill a variety of experimental needs while serving as tools to cross-verify each other. Depending on your sample type, available instrumentation, and number of genes being studied, QuantiGene Assays may be the right tool for the job.

QuantiGene RNA Assays measure gene targets directly from cell lysates or tissue homogenates with no need to purify RNA. Target RNA transcripts are captured through probe hybridization, and then branched DNA technology amplifies a signal. The signal is read using a Luminex instrument for multiplex assays or a luminometer for single targets.

QuantiGene Plex Assay Kits

Multiplex up to 80 targets per single sample for maximal throughput and results using Luminex xMAP® bead technology. Custom design your own panel using our configurator tool, or select from one of our preassembled panels.

QuantiGene Singleplex Assay Kits

Accurately measure single transcripts using a standard luminometer. Search from our catalog of thousands of probe sets, or we can design probes to your custom sequences.

How it works

Watch this video to learn how the QuantiGene Plex Assay works. The QuantiGene Plex Assay utilizes xMAP Luminex beads for multiplexing of 3 to 80 RNA targets followed by branched DNA-based signal amplification. The assay is performed in a 96-well plate and signal is detected using a Luminex instrument. You can choose from a variety of preassembled panels or custom design your own plex using our design tool.

Watch this video to learn how the QuantiGene Singleplex/ Singleplex HT assays work. QuantiGene Singleplex and Singleplex HT assay can accurately measure a single transcript from lysed cells, tissue homogenates, prepared blood or FFPE samples. The Singleplex Assay is performed in a 96-well plate and signal is detected using a standard luminometer. The Singleplex HT Assay is performed in a higher-throughput 384-well plate.

Click on the link below to discover how multiplexing can be used to examine secreted proteins and mRNA expression levels on a single Luminex platform. This publication specifically details how the ProcartaPlex and QuantiGene Plex assays can be paired to measure both proteins and messenger RNA (mRNA) expression in a single sample run on a Luminex platform.
